I'd buy it a 2nd time for sure
Is it really worth keeping up your "pc master race" cred to ignore one of the best games of the last console generation?
But some of us don't have consoles, my X360 died 3 years ago and I don't want to buy a PS3 or new X360. They should just release it on PC for us.
Just yesterday, I was playing RDR and told myself "if only it was on PC"... Please happen.
N-No it doesn't, there's literally a six year time gap between this if it's legit. Most people would have lost interest over the years.
Even if so, then how does it change what I have said? Company will only release game that they expect can make profit on that platform. Not buying it because they made You wait too long is basically telling them there's no point in porting games to PC.
great, i'd just comfortably forgotten how bad i wanted RDR to come to the pc
I would most definitely buy RDR again, one of the best games to come out this generation. HOWEVER I am taking this news with the TINIEST grain of salt there is, and I suggest everyone else do the same until, and even if, Rockstar themselves confirm this to be true. but yeah I would totally buy this a second time, as long as it's optimized correctly.
Yup the best way to convince a company to release games for PC is to not buy then when do! That'll make them want to fund PC games in the future! Nailed it.
They already showed us they don't care about PC. Look at GTA V man. Where the heck is the game? Why do we need to wait like a year for the PC version? Why not release it at the same time?
I heard that they accidentally lost the source code to the original game. Is this true?
Company like that should have several build machines even if its not the latest build.
Doubt it, it's been too long already. But I'll buy it again if they release on PC.
if there's hope for halo 3, there's hope for RDR
Oh god halo 3, time to start that recon debacle all over again
They already showed us they don't care about PC. Look at GTA V man. Where the heck is the game? Why do we need to wait like a year for the PC version? I mean rockstar have admitted RDR's code was a mess that barely stayed together. They've also pushed the last gen to its very limit with GTAV, I don't think those games are easy to port with all their incompatibilities unless you want another Dark Souls.
If they port it to PC, hoping for the Undead Nightmare expansion to also be on there too. Seriously, the four horses of the apocalypse were some of my favourite parts in Undead Nightmare.
just port the goty edition, they got everything in there
Rockstar have said on multiple occasions that a PC port won't happen. I'm going to remain super cautiously optimistic however.
I don't know. Lately gaming has been ALL ABOUT the sequels ports and reboots because new stuff with shitty microtransactions, mechanics, and the hand holding isn't doing well, so they're going back to what sold well. Nintendo has been riding that wave for 10 years. While Rockstar doesn't need to, it's just a easy cash grab for minimal effort and I wouldn't put it past them to do it. Even though I own it on 360, I'd buy it for PC

It made a bit of sense for GTA IV to take a while since it was on a newer, more advanced engine (RAGE). But after they worked out all the patches, I'm sure they know what they did wrong and how to fix it. GTA V I am assuming runs on the same (albeit updated and modified) engine and has been ported numerous times to the PC. (Max Payne 3 also uses RAGE) Max Payne 3 released less than a month after the console versions, there is no real excuse in a delay of 8+ months other than the fact that either A.) It isn't coming out on the PC at all just like RDR. or B.) They want people to buy it twice when they announce it coming out for PC/possibly next gen consoles.
Never going to happen Apparently its only just holding together by threads on the console versions and it would be a huge fucking mess trying to bring it over, I would be extremely surprised if they went back to RDR and tried to fix that before doing GTA
I heard that they accidentally lost the source code to the original game. Is this true?
No it's a load of bollocks that rumor started on /v/ and snowballed into a stupid even bigger rumor. it started with "rdr's code is extremely unrefined and it was already very hard porting it from 360 to ps3, porting it to pc would be a disaster" (which has no source), then it went to "rdr's code is held together with duct tape and plastic wrap.", and then to "rockstar lost the source code to rdr completely" it's not possible to "lose" the source code to it, not only because of how fucking massive rockstar is, but because they literally use code from rdr in GTA V and it is completely unmodified, meaning the code is not the problem, it's rockstar sandiego's inexperience with porting to PS3 and what was eventually going to be PC.
Maybe they'll announce it during E3.
Fistful of Frags AND Maybe Red Dead!
Maybe they'll announce it during E3.
The leaked E3 dossier shows that Rockstar's going to be there, presenting something. Seems like a strange coincidence.
Oh god halo 3, time to start that recon debacle all over again
Except you know the halo games have more chances on being on the PC compared to RDR.
Except you know the halo games have more chances on being on the PC compared to RDR.
i don't know... they're both in weird places i'm not sure which is more likely. something tells me RDR but something tells me Halo 3

What makes you think Rockstar is going to port a game to the PC even though they've said countless times they are not going to and the public interest right now is GTA V So fucking unlikely that this wasn't an error made on behalf of Microsoft
I just wanna see John in all his beautiful glory in HD graphics.
I hope that it will also be compatible with Win7, if they make it for PC that is
Nope, not buying it. Not believing a god damned thing till I hear it straight from the horse's mouth (rockstar.)
Is it really worth keeping up your "pc master race" cred to ignore one of the best games of the last console generation?
He didn't say he won't play it. Rockstar doesn't deserve your money, especially after the way they've treated their customers.
GTA V PC + Red Dead Redemption pack, calling it.
