I don't understand how not buying it would convince any developer to do anything other than not release any more games on that platform. If anything, it seems more reasonable to me that a lot of people buying it would send the message of "Maybe we should put more effort into PC instead of thinking of it as an afterthought." But, I'm not going to pretend that I understand the ins and outs of how a business makes its decisions.
"It seems the later we release the game on PC, the lower our sales are, maybe we should release all platforms at the same time" This is ignoring the "get people to buy it twice" thing, which is deplorable and I don't understand why anybody would defend Rock Star for having that as a cornerstone in their business plan.

Although, if Rockstar has already all but abandoned PC, then it stands to reason that the failure of the game that's probably been the one console game to get the most requests for a PC version that's not Halo wouldn't convince them its worth it. I won't defend the idea that its a good thing to release the PC version much later than the console version though.
This conversation was just leaked: http://s28.postimg.org/blv7u53ql/Talk2.png The censored guy is supposedly a Rockstar Games employee while the guy in the orange avatar is a community member. There's no proof this is real, but gtaforums.com is known to have at least a handful of Rockstar employees as users. Says a lot on what Rockstar thinks of PC Gamers.

Are those posts still up on GTAForums or were they removed?
Oh please, for all we know that could just be someone pretending to be from Rockstar.
I agree, but it's 50/50 imo. The guy in the orange avatar is supposed to be a respected member of gtaforums if that means anything at all. Those are personal messages though.

I'm not going "Yes Yes Yesdemption" until we get some proof.
Yeah but we're talking about buying it at full price, if you're going to buy it used then that doesn't really affect them in the same sense. It seems their entire business plan of having staggered release dates is meant to entice people to buy it for nostalgic purposes, not so consumers who switched platforms can repopulate their libraries. Not buy it? Tell them they want it released on every platform simultaneously? Money talks was my point, I can't fathom how you can't imagine a world where people have enough constraint to vote with their wallets. Yeah but all those things are terrible excuses, once again other developers have it figured out, why not rockstar? Saying "we don't do PC gaming" makes them sound like a bunch of snoody cunts. I hate "that's just the way it is" as an excuse for things.
rockstar only has a single devision dedicated to PC releases. Out of their ~13. If i would gander a guess that's why it takes long for them to develop pc titles. Because a. they don't have the market to add more developers to PC and b because gta v is literally the biggest game of the year and only 15-20 people are working on re-writing the entire game to function for PC.
As much as I'd buy this in a heartbeat, the game is 3-4 years old already, if they haven't ported it yet, they probably won't. But I do have some hope.
gtaforums.com It was just posted in the "Discussion: Has Rockstar abandoned the PC platform?" thread.
that image is fake btw you can just tell by the way he talks that he's not even scottish/european (which most of if not all of rockstar's employees are)
that image is fake btw you can just tell by the way he talks that he's not even scottish/european (which most of if not all of rockstar's employees are)
Wait, you can hear his accent by reading written text? Your talent must be shown to the world!! [sp]you're probably being sarcastic, nevermid.[/sp]
that image is fake btw you can just tell by the way he talks that he's not even scottish/european (which most of if not all of rockstar's employees are)
He does spell a lot of things wrong, though. He types in a nearly identical way to the orange guy, and he's also really passive-aggressive and angry for someone who's a professional developer talking with a fan in public. Going to say fake. [editline]a[/editline] It's either the orange guy, or someone impersonating a Rockstar employee. If he has access to that kind of information, he wouldn't say "He is an under an NDA, he can get in trouble with our legal department if he tells you more stuff".
S1lv3r is a well known user on the GTA Forums and he has never trolled anybody, so I wouldn't call bs. Edit: he also has a lot of connection with R*
While I do think we should be skeptical we shouldn't jump to conclusions and automatically call it a fake.
His claims in the GTAF thread are pretty sketchy. He just says he has an "inside source" who wouldn't troll him, and now he's being really vague about the kind of information he got. Plus the PM contradicts itself in a few places. If that guy is a trusted community member, then it's a good chance that the person sending him PMs is a troll. I would forget about it before it stirs up a shitstorm.
Anyway, this thread should be locked already because: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/ProductDetailsViewer?Name=Super%20Mario%20World&vendor=GameFabrique&Locale=1033%2C2057%2C3081%2C4105%2C16393&BreadCrumbPath=super%20mario&LastSearchTerm=super%2Bmario&Type=Software&tempOsid=Windows%208.1 It means shit.
So you're going to buy it again?
I would.
PC master race wins once again. First Dark Souls, then Ace Combat, then Metal Gear Rising, soon to be RDR, GTAV, and MGSV. Oh wait I forgot GTA V is a big pile of doo doo:
If GTA 5 was on PC though we could mod all the things that Rockstar fucked up on
I don't know if it would be possible. How moddable was GTA IV in regards to engine related processes such as physics?

If they're taking so long to port the game to PC, they might be redoing some of these systems since PCs have more processing power.
If they're taking so long to port the game to PC, they might be redoing some of these systems since PCs have more processing power.
HIGHER! RES! CHROMA-RING!

Noire, Max Payne 3, and GTA IV still run like crap. It'll have to be a good port, with good modding potential in order for me consider buying the game. I'd probably get it for 10 dollars on a gog or steam sale anyway.
That's funny all of those games run perfectly fine for me. Also Mount and Blade, STALKER, Battlefield 2, and others would like to have a word with you.
