gave orcywoo6 a bad review
Did orcywoo6 have FOV sliders
This is a problem with people who do art commissions, you'll have the occasional big-name who can whip out some cool stuff in a few hour and doesn't care about money as they have a job elsewhere, so they'll do something for a small paywall like $20. Meanwhile, others who actually need to make a living have to charge a fair wage for themselves, which is at minimum $17/hour, and depending on complexity of the job, it can take some time to complete it. You then get people bitching at you, "Why does your work cost X when this guy over here does it for 1/2 the price?"
Yeah except you actually have to pull off some good work to make people pay you, even if the price is higher. Keeping the analogy with art and such it's like if FUN Creators made really shitty, alf assed art that's mostly traced from other artists and still set the price for their commissions to twice the usual fee for no discernable reason. I understand indie devs setting their price tag rather high. They need money to live, etc. But what I don't understand and what I'll always call them out on is when they set a high price tag AND don't actually bother making their game look like it's even worth that price. MG:R is AAA, sure, but my point is that it's a full game, with full content, and full polish. Most indie games that are currently released through greenlight are absolute pieces of unpolished garbage that simply won't function properly. If you expect to live off being an artist or a video game developer for that matter, you have to make sure what you produce is as good as you can possibly make it or else you'll look like an amateur and no one will spill a dollar for you.
i dont know how it came to be that people think this is definitely as widespread as you think it is, without any evidence of it. there are some seriously dodgy and well-documented cases of it sure, but it's like people think every single review on gamespot or IGN is bought out now which just isn't true. my bro writes for both and there's never been any evidence of it
Ever since Jeff Gerstman was fired for giving Kane and Lynch a bad score people have believe the bigger websites are paid off. I don't think they are, they just are too willing to ignore problems in the industry in a misguided attempt to empathise with the developers of games, when their job should be about protecting and informing the customer. I mean look at the Mass Effect 3 shitstorm. No matter what you think about the reaction to the game having Kotaku insulting people who disliked the ending or the Escapist actively condemning people as idiots for not liking it is completely out of line, and in many ways harmful to the industry as a whole.
The issue is that even if a reviewing company is pretty much spot-free and genuine, if it comes out that just one reviewing score was paid for, you really start doubting every review - with all right to do so - from that company and their reputation will take a huge hit for a long time and it's entierly the company and/or people involved's fault.
There's no way these guys are legit. I mean, that horrible grammar, smilies etc. How do they have a company? I've seen more professional behavior from 11-year old Facepunch users who are promoting a GMod comic edited in MSPaint.
The fact that they are from Jordan pretty much explains this I've found that small non-western international companies tend to have a very poor concept of professionalism, PR, quality control, etc. They also are easily offended by not so offensive things, as if they just discovered the internet is a thing last year and are living in a complete bubble. These FUN guys pretty much fit that bill exactly. I bet they even think their games are good, without having played any of their competitor's games. "It only costs $20, of course its not going to be AAA in quality control, if it was you deserve to give us $60!" type logic.
hahahah
"We're forging an E-Mail because we do not want to listen to anybody because they are wrong! :D"
"We're forging an E-Mail because we do not want to listen to anybody because they are wrong! :D"
isn't that super illegal to impersonate someone? I hope they successfully get sued into bankrupts. This isn't how any company should act, this is literally how an 10 year old acts. any updates on this?
Has anyone other than the idiots on the Steam forums said he was too harsh? I honestly don't think he was remotely harsh considering the overall quality of the game.
TB being harsh is what the industry needs. Who else can you watch a review about something from and be assured that it isn't biased? Sessler maybe? I sure don't go to IGN to read up about a game, a place that rates CoD a 9.5 for being innovative, then rating the PC version lower saying it isn't. I'll take the biggest dickhead in the world's word over anyone else's for honesty's sake when it comes to gaming because so many games talk their game up, offer very little actual info other than some scripted rehearsed scene, and it's to try and sucker you into buying it. TB isn't the biggest dickhead in the world or anything, but if he was I'd fucking welcome it. If it sucks, say it sucks, don't sugar coat it. That's what I want from game reviews Besides, if it's good he praises the hell out of it. So I personally hope he keeps slamming those who deserve to be slammed. Guise of the Wolf and Day One Garry's Incident are two games that I categorize as "Scams". Hobby games quickly thrown together with no real passion or care in the hopes to utilize digital distribution to get some quick money
It's a valid critic, I just think he puts too much weight into it.
Except he doesn't. If your game does not have a FOV option then your game is a broken product and not fit for purchase. It's as simple as that and no matter how much you think you're more important than everyone that gets physically ill from low FOV then that fact isn't going to change.

I never put much thought into it or had any problems with FoV until ME3. I couldn't play it more than 15 minutes without taking a break. It was bad enough that even under threat from EA Support of an Origin Wide Account Ban, I used 3rd party software to change it. And this is coming from me, the only person in the world to not get motion sickness from Sewer Shark
It's a valid critic, I just think he puts too much weight into it.
A "Critic" is a person who "Critiques" FYI, it makes your posts confusing when you're using the word for the person.
(nothing new, just putting this into context) I think it's pretty obvious at this point that these guys are simply a bunch of clueless amateurs who have no idea of how deep they're digging their own grave and that accusing TB of forging emails is no laughing matter in court. If they don't back down and TB ends up suing them shit's going to hit the fan for them
have's he made a video about this yet.?
Since Youtube took down the 'WTF is...' of Guise of the Wolf, here is a mirror of it on another site for anyone that missed it: http://tune.pk/video/2125732/-WTF-Is-Guise-of-the-Wolf-
I want Polaris and TB to ruin them. That feels like revenge though and I don't know if I'm allowed to feel like that.
uh oh, TB better watch out or they might hack his IP and DDOS his minecraft
Did orcywoo6 have FOV sliders
Yes, I took a picture of the options menu: [t]http://puu.sh/6YEaG.jpg[/t] He's covered.
It's kinda like KorJax said. They're apparently a team from Jordan, and Western internet sensibilities probably aren't as strong in such regions. I dunno whether to pity them for their ignorance and lack of understanding or hate them for the shit they're putting TB through. So I've taken the advice of the Old El Paso girl and decided to do both.
I also remember one of the devs asking for someone to make a couple of models for 100 dollars. Everyone kept telling him that wasn't enough for the amount of work he was asking. He was adamant that it was a lot of money and everyone was dumb.

They may not have the same internet sensibilities but they lied about sending emails and tried to blackmail TB into closing his channel, they were perfectly aware of how youtube's copyright system worked and they kept the same smug attitude all along- they're scumbags any way you look at it
Looking back that's right. No pity, no remorse, nothing to make me want to not polish their skulls. No matter what your culture teaches, this behaviour should be crushed, but their skulls preserved for display in TB's trophy cabinet.
I want Polaris and TB to ruin them. That feels like revenge though and I don't know if I'm allowed to feel like that.
it's not revenge, they're doing something terrible and idiotic and they deserve to be punished
I kind of hope that Polaris and TB sue them for lots of money. Like all of the money they made from Guise. And then use every cent to buy copies of actual good indie games to just give away It might only be enough for 5 or 6 games but it's the principle that counts
I'm watching his review and the game is pretty painful I'm going to try and watch all 30 minutes

Dunno where that came from, but hopefully it'll only take one more collection of skulls for devs to wise up about not fucking with John Bain.
FUN creators is much like the rust community, or, better on, like a german pornstar. Full of SHIT
For a moment I thought you were saying "it'll take 5 or 6 of these incidents before the message gets across".
