Unfortunately I just don't think they can do it without significant sacrifices somewhere in the rendition. We still just don't have the raw power capable of rendering something like this. They can stream it a la Google Earth, but then you have massive texture smearing, pop-in, geometry formation delay and not to mention FPS dives and delays as you wait on content (and then there's streaming all of that globally to all the players, a nightmare!). Curious to see how they tackle it in the final product. Maybe players can be isolated and grouped into 'shards' like MMO's do, to reduce the overall workload. Then as you move into a new area you get a short load screen as it buffers the next major batch of data content. I don't know, I can't think of a feasible way to do it all.
I'm guessing from the mockup video that it is going to be a top down rpg, meaning that it has less small details to deal with compared to an fps game
Hahaha. Wow.
so in other words its 100% never going to be a thing and just vapourware hoping they collect revenue for 10 hours of work when promising thousands
I wonder how many of those drones they will lose because of rednecks shooting them out of the sky.
I've been shooting drones out of the sky all morning, and I'm just gettin' started over here.
This just smells like one of those "idea guys".
This just smells like one of those "idea guys".
I have to say idea guys can give a better pitch to investors by explaining how it's possible to be done now. More like idea guy passed an idea to a PR guy and the PR guy left out details need to explain feasibility.
Well, a recreation of the entire earth to use as a game world wouldn't be a very difficult pitch. It sounds fucking awesome on paper.
I guess I can see why these guys are ex-ubisoft.
I guess I can see why these guys are ex-ubisoft.
On the Contrary, Ubisoft was bought out. They are ex-Ubisoft because Ubisoft is no more.
This just smells like one of those "idea guys".
They actually made a somewhat trailer for the game. And even with all of these terms and agreements on not to refund or recharge your money, people may sue, do to their promise and didnt keep it. There are good lawyers, and legitimate buisnessmen judges who would love to slap unfair lying crooks in prison.
