Steep Decline In Americans' Belief In Global Warming

Just let nature do its job and kill us all.
Wasn't this the same episode where they get protesters to sign a petition to ban water?

I believe so. I loved the episode just for that reason.
neither is glenn beck
...Have you even watched his show?
Last time I heard, people like Van Jones didn't resign over fiction.
God damn it Penn fucjk yu for cusing global wrming
I don't believe in it, there was a mini ice-age in the year 1816, caused by a volcanic explosion, there is evidence that the earth is just going through a warming cycle since then.
I'll get flamed for this post, but go ahead, I don't really care.

I guess the question for you to ask yourself is if that's true, why haven't all the climate scientists, who have years and even decades of experience studying climate, and a far better understanding of climate than you do, come to that same conclusion?
It's all a big conspiracy between the communist scientist to make sure Obama's communist plan about killing old and sick people is going to work!!
I read a conservative blog about it so I know I'm right.

This.
None of us really know shit about this, most people here are 14 year old. Scientists who study this shit for a living says we're causing the global warming, let's believe them.

oh btw ur pretty cool guy th89

I wish more people said that instead of "NO IT IS FAKE BECAUSE GLOBAL COOLING AND SUN CYCLES AND AND AND AND MANBEARPIG"

There are two schools of thought among the climate scientists, both have about as much evidence as eachother.
However, thanks to An inconvenient truth and such, the theory that there is global warming is much more publically acknowledged. Shit you can put anything into a well edited 2 hour film and mass produce it with a good advertising campaign and you will have at the very least about 100,000 idiots who will believe it, just sayin'.
I'm undecided on the whole thing.
I stopped caring about global warming once it became cold outside
It's not that they "got it wrong," it's that they were clearly pushing a far-right agenda to begin with (which they generally are). They didn't "accidentally" bring their Cato homies on the show while randomly picking people with opinions about it. Besides which, if they were this disingenuous about this issue I don't see any reason to assume they haven't been about others.
You think they're "awesome" because you agree with them, which is fine. And they're very entertaining. But as source of factual information it's not really any better than O'Reilly or Michael Moore.
Yea, that's why they called religion bullshit and did a huge show about how batshit crazy all religious people are.
Because they're pushing for the far-right.

So there's no point in holding back from actually raping someone :smug:

Yeah, not at all.
There is a very clear consensus amongst scientists all over the world that global warming is caused by humans.
Saying we don't cause global warming is almost as stupid as denying evolution, it might even cause a lot more harm.

Yeah, this is actually simply wrong. You should take a look at the article from the OP:

This as well:

I can understand people find it hard to relate and such things as global warming, but instead of denying it they should spend some time studying it.
And if they don't, they should believe the people who do study it.
I can understand people find it hard to relate and such things as global warming, but instead of denying it they should spend some time studying it.
The problem with "studying it" is that there's so much bad information on the internet, it's like telling someone to use Google to figure out whether 9/11 was a conspiracy. And it takes a certain degree of experience to be able to distinguish reputable sources from bad ones.
Plus, there's a tendency among otherwise rational people (professional's post being an example) to assume that if there are two sides to a debate, then they must be equally likely, or equally reasonable, when in fact that's often not true (as is the case with global warming, evolution, and a lot of conspiracy theories).
All reputable scientific organizations have reached a consensus on this, so for them to all be faking would require either everyone to be some kind of massive conspiracy (since scientific research is publicly available and anyone with a background in climate science can and do fact-check these studies as they come out), or essentially all climate scientists to be in it for nothing other than the money (even though most of them don't really make that much). Neither is very plausible.
Don't attribute to greed or conspiracy what you can adequately explain with humanity's inherent stupidity. Climatologists are like any other group of people, and just as easily made to believe silly shit. Global warming being real or not, you have to admit that it's being pushed by large groups of non-climatologists who definitely do have agendas furthered by it and money to make off it, it's being over-hyped by the media as a result, there's peer pressure in certain fields to either blindly accept it or blindly deny it, etc.
Doesn't change the fact that all the evidence points towards us being the cause of global warming.
It's funny because people think that if global warming would be happening every day it would just be hot outside. :downs:
Carl Sagan said global warming is bad, like, 20 years ago. We have not moved on since then.
You are right in some respects.
I think people misconstrued the episode on global warming to be an attack on global warming. Weren't they saying shit like Carbon Credits etc were bullshit? Like the owner of the company for carbon credits giving money to herself for pollution?
I may be entirely wrong on this.
People don't believe in global warming because not much has happened to the average American regarding it while the information and warnings have been around for a while.
give it a couple of decades
By then it'll be too late!
We are dooooomed!
/sarcasm
If we start trying to fix things then it'll be a helluva lot more expensive.
Find out all you can about the UN's "Agenda 21".
"Catastrophic Man Made Global Warming" has always been planned to be used as a way to bring about global governance. Once everyone realizes that the biggest enemy to mankind is mankind itself, who could REFUSE to become a communist for the good of the world?
^ UN thinking.
"Do you think human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures?"
This technically could mean global warming, global freezing, and anything in between.
I personally believe we're moving towards an ice age, very much "The day after tomorrow" style.

lol yes, the UN, the most ineffectual organization in the history of mankind, is trying to take over the world via global warming scams
also the FBI wants to put a microchip in your brain
I personally believe we're moving towards another age of dinosaurs, very much "Jurassic Park II" style, but on a much grander scale.

think whatever you want, doesn't change the fact that actual scientists disagree with you en masse

The Penn and Teller episode was focused more on exposing the silly bits of the green movement than actually disproving global warming.

You ever seen the movie "Soul Plane"?
Well, based on my observations, that is the future of the world. Albeit not relegated to a single plane.

hmm maybe they should have had a different title for the episode then?
