Oh, I don't know, maybe that all this "hunger and starvation" is just a huge bloated media thing? After googling for over an hour, I found a UK source with a Hamas official: Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/israel/7806209/Dispatch-Just-how-hungry-is-Gaza.html
Amnesty International, the UN and the Red Cross are not the media. You're digging a hole for yourself here. Hamas wants to destroy Israel, and of course it wants to make itself look competant. Why in the name of god would people like them willingly say "Yeah we're all starving and have no supplies we're pretty much fucked :downs:" [editline]11:49PM[/editline] Yes, there is starvation. [editline]11:49PM[/editline] I know you're borderline trolling, but you obviously realise this shit.
bravehat - is it me, or it looks like there isn't a single Palestinian source that actually states starvation in Gaza? Been googling for a bit, and noticed that all sources are UN, British, American.
Do you even think that a Gaza News Station that reports to the world even exists? I found testimonies however: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/gaza-is-a-jail-nobody-is-allowed-to-leave-we-are-all-starving-now-415101.html Picked one:
It is the worst year for us since 1948 [when Palestinian refugees first poured into Gaza]," says Dr Maged Abu-Ramadan, a former ophthalmologist who is mayor of Gaza City. "Gaza is a jail. Neither people nor goods are allowed to leave it. People are already starving. They try to live on bread and falafel and a few tomatoes and cucumbers they grow themselves."
The prohibition on bringing in raw materials and on exports has led to the closing of 95 percent of the factories and workshops in the area. Tens of thousands of persons have lost their livelihood, and unemployment now exceeds 40 percent. As a result, more than 70 percent of the population depends on aid from international organizations to obtain food. In 2007, humanitarian aid amounted to 3 percent of imports; by 2009, this figure had risen to 26 percent.
"Unlike Fatah, Hamas refuses formally to recognise Israel's right to exist or to negotiate with it, and has fired thousands of rockets towards Israeli towns, causing about 30 deaths. Israel retaliated with a massive counter-offensive in December, 2008, killing over 1,200 people, many of them civilians." Israel in a fucking nutshell.

Sure, may not be the best source (or a bad one actually), but tell how this: http://www.paltoday.ps/arabic/News-64161.html Absolutely Palestinian website is a bad source?
At this point you're grasping for straws, man. I'm sorry, but in this particular instance you are wrong.

Blog. Blog. Can't read, uses the same pictures as everyone else. Uses the same pictures as everyone else. ...Israeli national news? You mean the heavily right wing source that has a huge zionist basis? You've got about two sources there with perhaps some credibility, but they're using the same pictures, suggesting that no other pictures of Gaza being the happiest motherfucking place on earth actually exist. [editline]02:07PM[/editline]
Sure, may not be the best source (or a bad one actually), but tell how this: http://www.paltoday.ps/arabic/News-64161.html Absolutely Palestinian website is a bad source?
Can you actually read what it is saying? If you can't, it could be saying "ISRAELI PROPOGANDA PICTURES" So I'm hoping you can.
This just proves that BurnEmDown will defend Israel no matter what BurnEmDown, just stop posting please
http://www.solomonia.com/blog/archive/2009/11/starvation-in-gaza-hardly/index.shtml http://www.israellycool.com/2010/01/25/starvation-in-gaza-taking-its-toll/ http://www.viciousbabushka.com/2010/06/more-suffering-and-starvation-in-gaza-concentration-camp.html http://www.paltoday.ps/arabic/News-64161.html http://politifi.com/news/Starvation-in-Gaza-Hardly-37898.html http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/128400 See, I can do the same.
i'm afraid you're finding isreali news agencies that deny starvation. i'm finding isreali news agencies that agree with the statement that starvation, or at least a shortage on critical supplies, is happening in gaza as a result of the IDF's blockade. here's another one:
"Even the trickle of humanitarian aid previously allowed into Gaza (on which 80% of the population depends) has now been stopped for nine days by the Israeli army," AI reported. It quoted residents of Gaza who said that "they could not even find candles in the market any more." An AI official was quoted as saying: 'Israel's latest tightening of its blockade has made an already dire humanitarian situation markedly worse. This is nothing short of collective punishment of Gaza's civilian population and it must stop immediately.'
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/128400 and it's even off of isreali national news, which is one of your news sources. there are plenty other articles that say the same thing on INN as well. thus, i challenge you to find a Palestinian news agency that denies the adverse effects of the gaza siege.

[editline]02:15PM[/editline] Meanwhile (As of June 10th) http://blogs.news.sky.com/middleeastblog/Post:b314c362-73b5-4f1b-bd3d-71591a494630 [release] Eighty percent of Gazans suffer the indignity of having to queue for food aid, ‘not because they want to,’ as UNRWA Gaza chief John Ging puts it but because ‘their economy has been completely destroyed’. The UN needs to build a hundred schools and has not been able to for four years, because Israel will not allow cement in, because of security concerns. Ninety percent of school buildings are used in shifts. One group of students use them in the morning, another in the afternoon. So pupils only get half the classroom time they need and forty thousand fail basic Arabic and maths every year. Teachers have not been able to take holidays for three years. 90 percent of water does not meet WHO drinking standards. Millions of cubic litres of untreated sewage is pumped into the sea every day because Israel will not allow in the cement to build and repair treatment plants (surely a crisis for Gaza’s neighbours too). And there is what we found on a tour of two Gazan hospitals today. In Rantissi Children’s hospital, the head of the diagnostics laboratory told me today he cannot perform a number of tests for leukaemia and blood disorders because of a lack of chemical and instruments all held up in Israel. Upstairs in the intensive care unit, doctors say at least one child died this week because two mechanical ventilators are broken because Israel will not allow in spare parts to fix them. The head of oncology says he has an urgent need for Lomustine, an essential cancer drug. The hospital’s CT scanner has been out of action for weeks because of a lack of spare parts. In Shifa Hospital’s intensive care unit blood diagnostics machines cannot be used because of a lack of reagents and spare parts. Israel announced this week it will ease its blockade to allow in more snack foods. Crisps, biscuits and Coca-Cola. But cement and spare parts for electric appliances will remain severely restricted. Israeli Government spokesman Mark Regev told Sky News he will investigate the drugs shortages ‘There are no restrictions whatsoever supplying medicines to the people of Gaza. If there are shortages of particular items I want to hear about them and my government will act to facilitate the transfer of medicines into Gaza.’[/release]
