Just logged in, you are wrong, panicking, and probably mistyped your password. http://puu.sh/2836G
I didn't say it was down, I'm not panicking, and it is impossible for me to have mistyped my password (it remembers it for me). It's probably fixed by now, but I don't feel like checking.
So this means that all of Relic's games won't work online anymore?

If you weren't, there's no real reason to say it here?? The servers are fine, regardless. NOTHING NEW IS GOING DOWN BECAUSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, OP CONNECTED TWO DOTS THAT SHOULDN'T BE CONNECTED
-snip-
I just realized, GameSpy technology is used in Call of Duty 4 on the PC.
I wonder if anybody's even reading the thread before panicking, to be honest.
not company of heroes noooooooooooooooooooooooooo

He might have meant it to cast doubt on it not being a real story, but I thought it was pretty obvious that I didn't mean it as evidence everything is down. I just started BC2 up again, and it's working for me finally, so obviously it was just an intermittent issue with my account/connection. EDIT: Oh, I didn't see he was the OP, so I guess we both misread something here.
It was probably just hundreds of nerds logging it at once to test it.
Battlefield Bad Company 2
I will not fucking tolerate this
Is Jedi Academy really gone? So many memories from that game, with all the mods it had. Miss the days when I spent hours chilling on Makermod.
Jedi Academy has a unique community that is migrating to a centralized Hamachi server. I doubt other games will be as coordinated unfortunately.
Wow, A lot of those games are pretty popular too. Sad times.
Star Wars Battlefront 2. No. I played this all the time on PS2, that was the BEST shit. A friend surprisingly bought it for me on PC not long ago, and no, I haven't played it a ton, but I still go on every so often. That is a piece my childhood right there. I guess, though, there are dedicated servers independent from Gamespy, right? I'm honestly not sure. But still, they usually suck ass. There are usually only a few server that I can even SEE the ping for.
What?! No! I still play Dawn of War Dark Crusade pretty much every other day with friends.

The dedicated servers will remain up but you'll need to connect via IP IF you're even lucky enough to be able to do that.
All of Crysis? aGUDSUIGADSGASD literally dead. rip me. will serve drinks and snacks at my funeral
Since half the people here don't seem to be reading the posts indicating that it is only a website shutting down, maybe this will get their attention.

that's a shame. [editline]25th February 2013[/editline] swat 4? no.
Since half the people here don't seem to be reading the posts indicating that it is only a website shutting down, maybe this will get their attention.
Like I've been saying, entire game communities are moving over to hamachi and some games are down. Some games that were up yesterday are dead now. A lot of people are asking why hasn't this been reported on? I ask the same fucking thing.
I thought the Tribes 2 servers were already down.
I thought the Tribes 2 servers were already down.
The authentication server went down. The public server listing was still up.

Some posters in this thread seem to say that their games are still working/ are working that weren't working yesterday. Also, in the event that the gamespy services are going down, your OP is a still just story about the website (owned by a completely different company) shutting down, along with a list of GameSpy powered games. (this makes the thread entirely speculative--not exactly what SH is about)

Either it is a coincidence that dozens of games that were working yesterday went down today or the Blog Post they published back in December of 2012 is not relevant information anymore.

I tested the Battlefield games and Battlefront 2, and they are still up.
Well, at very least the list in the OP is inaccurate. I tested the Battlefield games and Battlefront 2, and they are still up.
Some games have already shut down. Not all of them. Not even 1/10th of them.
Battlefield 1942 Battlefield 2 Battlefield 2142 Halo Star Wars Battlefront 2
I still play these from time to time. I weep for thee.
Is Jedi Academy really gone? So many memories from that game, with all the mods it had. Miss the days when I spent hours chilling on Makermod.
It was fine when I was playing it a couple of hours ago.
