All GameSpy powered multiplayer games shutting down - Polidicks

What an interesting time for Crysis to begin crashing on launch every time I try to play. Probably unrelated but still.

Plenty of those games are owned by big publishers, and I'm sure it would be simple enough for them to simple take part of GS's infastructure to keep them online. BF2 still sells plenty of copies and Halo 1 PC still has like 7000 players or something. Even if the servers were linked directly to the shutdown of these sites, which I know they aren't. I don't think many of them would be down permanently. I figure EA might buy up GameSpy and merge it with 1Up and all them to develop a new brand. Let's face it. While Gamespy does provide a service, I never ever once wanted anything to do with gamespy. I never wanted anything to do with them.

All IGN are taking down is the GameSpy website (Which is a news portal)

Uhh I'm pretty sure the Battlefield games and the old Call of Duty games didn't use GameSpy
