Less sleep, I guess. The lack of sleep effects you mentally, which is why staying up for multiple days straight leads to a negative affect on your health and even hallucinations. Lets say you go to sleep at around one or two in the morning, only to wake up at six in the morning for work/school. Lets say this continues for weeks or even months. The lack of sleep will effect your mood, thus leading to sadness/depression. Even the thought of "I wish I had more sleep" could make these effects worse, sort of like the Placebo effect (Take a sugar pill, think/feel it'll get rid of your headache, it does). In that way, you'll keep hoping for sleep but it's just out of reach.
This has happened to me and still happens because I have insomnia (Due to depression), and it still effects me. Fuck medication, since the side-effects outweigh the things that are supposed to be "fixed". Seriously, if the medication doesn't effect you well, you'll probably bleed from your eyes and start listening to Justin Bieber on a daily basis.
Too much sleep also is bad for you, it can also get you depressed...
Or, on the other hand, some teenagers are depressed anyway and want to spend as much of the time as possible while they're conscious away from school/people so they stay up late and maximise the amount of time they can spend away from there.
Just a thought based on how I feel a lot of the time.
Im going to go kill myself.
Goodbye cruel facepunch!
Hahahahaha, stay up late and you get depressed!
I have to stay up past midnight! It's the only time I enjoy playing CS.
I just woke up and thought the title was "Study finds sleep fights off sleep deprivation in teens."
They told me this back in october at a depression assembly for the freshman
I hated it because it was with my bitch of a guidance counselor who blinks way too god damned much
Who would have thought sleeping makes you feel better :downs: Did we really need a study to tell us this?
I get depressed when my alarm doesn't ring and I wake up around dinner time. A whole day wasted.
Sex is good.

Yeah, me too.
I think science will have definitely made a breakthrough when sleep will not become a necessity anymore
Just an excuse to make us go to sleep earlier. :saddowns:
hmm maybe I should sleep more
"I'm sooooo tired. :suicide:"
I go to bed at like 3 on weekends but get up at 2, so that's still a lot of sleep.
I'm happy.
Its comon sense this, Do these reserchers have too much time on their hands?
Edit: "Those who stayed up late and got less than eight hours of sleep also are 20% more likely to have suicidal thoughts."
Cheers mate. :P
