Noooo, [I]never[/I] trust bricks (or cinder blocks) as a safeguard in that kind of scenario. They can crumble if your vehicle suddenly drops down on them. As draugur mentioned above, just go out and buy a set of jack stands if you need to get under your vehicle and otherwise can't do so. Here at my place I'm able to park my car over the drainage ditch at the end of the driveway, and then I can just chock the wheels. Works great for general maintenance, unless of course I've got to remove one of the wheels.
