I don't even have java :v:
Can I still play Minecraft? :v:
I literally just installed Java this morning cause I installed Windows 8
fuck
ohh this explains why something tried to install on my computer
thanks and noted
I got Java Version 6, and disabled anything has that Java in the name in my add-ons.
Am I safe? :v:
Firefox automatically disabled mine for me

This machine and my mother's laptop have got Java 6 installed, Firefox automatically disabled for me, while we had to do it manually on the laptop. Suppose I will not be safe if I enable it again?
Oracle has yet to comment on the vulnerability or when users should expect a fix, but it might be a while. The database giant ordinarily observes a strict thrice-annual patch schedule for Java, and the next batch of fixes isn't due until October 16.

Yeah Oracle, watch the world burn you shobby greasy wanker.

Fucken' Oracle. Why did Sun sell themselves into Oracle. Why.
If I have noscript enabled, am I safe?
Wait, guys, I know the solution.

I'm more surprised this many people have Java installed, what do you guys use it for?
Wow, my firefox auto disabled the java extension already. Sweet.

Anything and everything? There are a lot of java applications out there still. Some of them are pretty useful, some of them aren't. It's still a pretty useful thing to have installed on your computer.
I haven't updated in like a year, still on version 1.5. No need to worry.
In a way its a good thing I didn't have java installed
So just to be clear, you only need to disable it on your browser? I have version 7 and disabled it in Chrome, am I safe? :tinfoil:

I haven't ever had java on a PC in years, I never find anything that needs it? I don't play Minecraft so idk
Anyone know a Java 6 64-bit setup link?

I use Java only to play Minecraft.
If you really want to play Minecraft you can download the executable client, the exploit is based on browser java plugins. Keep Java installed, disable it from the browser, problem solved.
Java (2 files) - Version: 10.4.1.255
I'm probably safe
Probably not, check here

I checked it on firefox on my other laptop, and it seems to have auto dissabled, the reason was somethig along the lines of "there is a problem or a security fault with this plugin" although I cant remember exactly
Wow, good thing I never installed that update a few days ago, I knew there was something bad coming of it eventually.
As far as I know, this issue is browser-related only. Minecraft's Java runs standalone, so you can still play Minecraft despite all of this.
I don't even have Java on any of my browsers :v:
Anyways, if you want to be safe, use Noscript or Notscript depending upon your browser. They block java execution unless you explicitly allow it.
Yay, FacePunch still works with Java disabled :D
