Yeah, it seems like this exploit only affects people who don't have an anti-virus. Why are those people still allowed to connect to the internet? Microsoft should create a "friendly virus" that automatically downloads MSE to infected computers.
That's all well and good but what if I have avast! or something else installed? I'd rather some third party make a virus that basically pops up with a dialog that says "OY! You don't have an anti-virus installed! Go get either avast or MSE. They're free." Problem with that is people will think it's fake and ignore it.
That's all well and good but what if I have avast! or something else installed?
Then Avast would block it. (Microsoft would give out the definitions to all antivirus makers.)
Problem with that is people will think it's fake and ignore it.
Exactly, which is why it would have to install silently on all unprotected computers. EDIT: This is a moot point with Windows 8 since it already includes a hybrid of MSE and Windows Defender. I can't believe MS waited so long to include it.

Which is why you're porobably starting to see a lot more integration in MS products than before.
My brother had the Common Sense 2012 ~antivirus~. A few months later, he got a bios flashing virus rendering his entire laptop unusable
Yeah common sense is great until drive by exploits like this come out
Apparently they've patched it now.
