If/when HL3 comes out, I'd love to read a book based on its development, like Raising the Bar or the interactive book Geoff Keighley did for Portal 2. I just want to know what they could possibly be doing that this game isn't done yet.

Wait wait wait, you're telling me this video isn't a joke video?
Fuck why didn't I do this, now I'll have to wait for HL3 to be released and make one for HL4.
funniest thing is, they're just interns so they don't actually represent the company they work for at all but they act like it matters man fuck interns
this is indiegogo but this basically fits
It's kind of sad that Harry Partridge basically refuses to use Kickstarter or Patreon to finance his videos because he really wants to make them out of his own pocket and spare time, and that he may have to downgrade his animation quality by a wide margin if not stop animating entirely for a comic page layout instead. He'd be able to produce way more content if he used patreon.
It's actually in the making if you've been following the news on Source 2. New engine, so ofc its gonna take long, what with csgo and dota2 as main projects.
Yeah, i recall that few months ago leaked valve files pictures had hl3 folder in it :v:
what the fuck [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/P2cY7Uh.png[/thumb]
... is that Anders Breivik?!
Both HL1 and HL2 were completely groundbreaking technology-wise, and raised the bar for the genre. Its likely HL3 will be the same, and they need time to do it. All the people who donated probably just have money to throw away, and aren't really true fans of the series, they just want their games NOW. Wish i could sit down and explain that to them but you know how stubborn people are.

Not really ground breaking but very story driven. I think thats what most true hl fans want. To finish the story. [sp] and an easter egg Gaben face room ofcourse [/sp]
This is terrible, stop it you gogo people. [editline]19th October 2014[/editline]
Half-life 3 can be the best game ever made and probably still wouldn't live up to the hype. The best thing to do is stop caring and let valve do their thing.
Umm, if HL3 turned out to be the best game ever made across all fields, then it would definitely live up to its hype. It isn't even that hyped considering how long it has been since HL2, and how uptight Valve is about it.
I think people find Valve's silence on the whole thing more frustrating than how long it's taking to be made, tbh.
So it really just is, we're paying a guy to tell valve that we want half life 3, and that this money will prove that we want it. It's not like we've been barraging gabe with hundreds of emails a day asking for hl3, all the abundant jokes on hl3, and the sheer amount of people online already begging for even the tiniest sliver of hl3 information. Instead of contacting the company why don't we just pay a guy to do what were already doing though right?
half life 3 will likely never be made get over it
TF2 was announced at E3 1999
I'm glad Half-Life was never a comedy game then.
It wasn't any kind of overwhelmingly fun either!
... is that Anders Breivik?!
It looks like Dracula, the teeth, eyes, and ears oh my god this isn't half life 3 it's the remake of the Dracula video game.
What was up with the random burger-eating, UFO abduction, toilet-flushing footage? Failed attempt at random humor?
what the fuck [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/P2cY7Uh.png[/thumb]
Gmongler.
It wasn't any kind of overwhelmingly fun either!
And this post wasn't overwhelmingly good either.
what the fuck [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/P2cY7Uh.png[/thumb]
most cringeworthy thing I've seen all week

Three grand for a song written by this dude.
How much do I need to donate for an extra hour in the ball pit?
