I'm sorry, but I am hard pressed to find modern music that is truly as beautiful as this: I am sure it exists, but it is so pushed down by the shit music that it's so difficult to find... Most people assume that classical music is so simple, and of no interest, but if you just listen to the harmonies of the likes of Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, it is so much more.
Okay sir. You want some modern classical to blow your socks off? That voice WILL penetrate your soul, and I WILL make sure of that. [editline]25th June 2012[/editline] wow I didn't even know this was in Prometheus. It's one of my favourite albums. Not sure what to think now.
the missing link of good music today and good music of yesteryear is hall and oates woah ohhhh here she comes...
the missing link of good music today and good music of yesteryear is hall and oates woah ohhhh here she comes...
What ever happened to those guys?
There was shitty music and good music all the time. Today we don't have queen , but we have other good bands like foo fighters, arctic monkeys or red hot chili peppers.
psh, music peaked in 1734
Not all modern music is rap. Look at The Offspring, Foo Fighters, Puddle of Mudd, Volbeat, Chevelle, Shinedown, etc. There is pleanty of good music out there. Most people dont listen to classical because there is not meaning behind it. Music is how people express themselves.
lol
hey guys sup im just gonna push my favorite kind of music mmkay check it out yo bet you cant find nothing as beautiful as this today can you plebs
*whack face with Bible*
I really don't think anyone can say "there is just as much good music today as there was in the 60s and 70s" because i've talked to several people from that generation, all claiming that bad music was pretty hard to come by.
Music nowadays.
I really don't think anyone can say "there is just as much good music today as there was in the 60s and 70s" because i've talked to several people from that generation, all claiming that bad music was pretty hard to come by.
There was no internet to find terrible music in the 60's.

Why is everyone going on about when music was best, People have different tastes so of course someone who is into blank will say blank had the best music.
I like all music
There are tons of recent artists that create music that is very good.
A random mutation that lived for a year or two then went extinct.
Uh dubstep's been around for like a decade and a half. Oh look another retard who thinks all dubstep started in 2009 and is nothing but electronic farts and transformer rape.
And that's how dubstep was born
You probably only know the sounds of dubstep from brosteppers such as Skrillex, dubstep is more of a slower and deeper form of garage.
You probably only know the sounds of dubstep from brosteppers such as Skrillex, dubstep is more of a slower and deeper form of garage.
saying all dubstep sucks is like saying all videogames suck it's stupid and short sighted
Another masterpiece of our time.
I like how he explains how DarwinTunes works "they have sex, have little music babies, and those music babies have sex" :D
And that's how dubstep was born
Dubstep is a flawed mutation that is going to die out.
One cannot just quantify all of today's music. Now more than ever more people have more ways of not only creating music but spreading their music to others, thanks to the internet. We are in a golden age. It saddens me that people have so much music at their fingertips with the internet but some of you dismiss it all because of some unfathomable prejudice against exploring beyond what is handed to you on a platter.

I guess metal is sort of like Godzilla that comes and stomps the shit out of everything. Then it sinks back from whence it came.
Music evolution is a lie! Music is made by a loving creator, it didn't just come from slime!
I like some of the old songs back in the 90's and some of the 80's. I've been looking for musicians out there that i've never heard of in a different genre. That's when I've discovered New Age Music, how it's almost relates to calm universal music from everywhere, with lyrics related to something like an irish love story or a song about the world of civilization, think that civ 4 song "baba yetu" as an example of what I'm trying to say. Everything seems to gone electrical in this decade. Lady Gaga, Dubstep artists, and other newer artist seems to add in more techno in their pop songs. New faces are appearing and some old faces are dying off litterly. Our Classical music are transformed, as people make instrumental music for movies and games, and they still thrive as we love the tunes that we hear. Music is always evolving as we still have creativity and inspiration, although some people may not like those but some people may do.

With a lot of influences of 80s artists, a lot of the newer artists are implementing pseudo-techno pieces to their music. With electronic music gaining in popularity, of course more and more bands/groups are going to implement them in some form or another. I mean, I know people who listened to country and pop now listening to Skrillex and dubstep. It's just "how music evolves", and given another half decade or so we'll see the same change we saw from the '80s-'90s, '90s-'00s and '00s-'10s (Isn't that an odd thing to write, I feel old) Anyway, I'm not going to lie and say I'm a fan of this change in music, but like I've said before, there are hundreds of other artists of other genres that are not just the top of the charts who make music that I enjoy, and if modern music still isn't great, old music is forever.
