Holy fucking shit you have got to be the dumbest individual I've had the misfortune of setting my sights on today.
uh, yeah guys go easy on the insults.
Alex DeLarge may have some very "interesting" opinions, but just calm it with your words.
As long as they redefine it how it should be redefined, then this is a good thing.
If they leave some stupid, obvious loophole or leave something blatant out of the mix, it'll end up being a horrible reflection on the FBI's behalf. I like to think that the FBI has smarter, more reasonable people running it than Congress, though.

Well, he does have consistent flaming and trolling bans dating all the way back to when he joined.

and that makes it okay for anyone else to break the rules?
and that makes it okay for anyone else to break the rules?
I was unaware that it was okay for a person to post his hateful and harmful views regularly, but pointing it out is bad.
I'd like to read that rule.

well regrettably, everyone is allowed an opinion, no matter how wrong everybody else considers it to be.
flat out insulting someone based on that opinion (regardless of how right or wrong it is) is considered flaming, which is against the rules, as you might like to read here http://www.facepunch.com/fp_rules.php
:~)
Can't rape someone under the influence? Doesn't that make 'date rape drugs' paradoxical?
How is it paradoxical if date rape drugs aren't legal in the first place? (Assuming you mean roofies/GHB)
Well, it is justified, he is wrong on the internet.
if that's what you think, then flame ahead, by all means!!
also, you might want to consider that if i thought he was right i would have banned the flamers already. i'm just reminding people to be slightly more careful about what they say, in a best attempt to avoid a ban ;)
Except that's not rape and no one ever said it was. That's called a mistake.
When they refer to rape under the influence, they're talking about girls who've either drank so much of their own accord or have been coaxed into it by their "companion" and then taken advantage of when they black out and are physically incapable of resisting. That is rape.
Getting a normal level of drunk and sleeping with a fat, ugly beast with a tiny dick and regretting it the next day is nothing more than a mistake.
Actually I'm pretty surprised that you can't tell the difference. Quite a few people in this thread that seem to lack higher thought processes and can't discern between a mistake and rape.
With a new definition yes, it will be seen as a "mistake".
However as things are right now, it has several times been used as a classification for rape.
I'm not talking about actual rape, I'm talking about the cases where two people are drunk, both seemingly show consent, then the girl regrets it the day after, and accuses the man of taking advantage of her while drunk which in term labels him as a rapist.

well that's great, but that's not what everyone else is talking about.
I know the difference between "mistake" and "rape", the law does not. This is what I think needs changing.
well that's great, but that's not what everyone else is talking about.
Well it is on topic and still related to what was being talked about, you guys simply misinterpreted me.
[editline]2nd October 2011[/editline]
I thought it would be obvious that I'm not endorsing the act of forcing yourself on someone who can't show consent.

So, how long until we get to hear 12-year olds scream "I raped your mom so hard, they changed the definition of rape" on Xbox Live?
Since 1927, rape has been defined as forcible male penile penetration of a female — which excludes cases involving oral and anal penetration, cases in which the victims were drugged or under the influence of alcohol, and male victims.
*BSOD's*
They also need to get rid of this bullshit

stupid opinions used to be bannable
I believe the actual reason was "jackass"
I had no idea the definition was so narrow. That can't mean that cases of on-male rape, or anal rape, etc, have gone unpunished, can it?
They'd be punished for sexual assault at least.
Somehow, the title is slightly misleading. The FBI redefining rape just sounds.. I don't know, it just sounds wrong in some way.
I think I need to bleach my mind one of these days.
Scarbro
I'd love to have this name.
i'm pretty sure there are a lot more women that have been actually raped when drugged up rather than women calling "rape" for attention or when they accidentally do it with a fugly guy
all of the people calling against this, you're basically saying there are less rapes than there are accusations of rapes which is wrong according to a plethora of statistics
For starters, lets have them stop calling sex between consenting teenagers (15/16) rape
According to the FBI's current definition of rape, men cannot be raped. Hope they fix it.
If somebody raped my fiancee, there would be no investigation, I'd fucking torture their ass. My fiancee knows she can tell me anything, and I won't be mad, if someone hurts her I'll go take care of it.
I don't like guys who take advantage of girls at a party while they're drunk. Yea, sometimes the girl will say "Yes" and maybe the guy is drunk too, but not always. Usually guys go to parties to find drunk chicks (the bad guys) to fuck. That's still a form of rape.
