Wow, Sounds like someone hated the Activist, obviously, but right into a dead-end drive in the opposite direction? Im a little suspicous.
damn racists
Probably a racist southern cunt.
I think there is more to it than some Texan saying, "Oooh Im goin kill me some raghead."
Call me paranoid, put I'm pretty sure it was her opposition to Iran's government that got her killed. Unless someone used that as decoy to throw off others.
I'm betting on the former.

If the cops believe the crime was not racially or politically motivated, they may have information they're not sharing, or they may be trying to lull her killer into a state of carelessness by feeding contradictory information to the media. Texas as a State has never been a beacon of enlightenment, and whatever the truth may be, I sure as hell know what this looks like. When they find the fucker, they'd better roast him over a slow fire.

Mmm, get a load of this stereotyping.
Hi, I'm Texan. Believe it or not, we aren't a bunch of racist, bible thumping cowboys. Nobody I know is racist, and nobody I know is a regular victim of racism, if at all. And the most I've ever gotten for being an atheist is a few double takes. Nobody is getting fucking lynched here for being a different religion or black or any of that shit, because nobody fucking cares that much.
Stop acting like Texas is in the 1800s.

Mmm, get a load of this stereotyping.
Nah, its okay to stereotype as long its about religious people, southreners, Americans, or republicans on FP. Cuz its a lot easier than actually thinking about something.

Texas, can you just draw a big line down the middle of your state, put all the smart people on one side, and all the idiotic walking stereotypes on the other?
Texas, can you just draw a big line down the middle of your state, put all the smart people on one side, and all the idiotic walking stereotypes on the other?
Why not do that with every state?

And how exactly does that have to do with anything, Houston is a liberal city, like the rest of the Urban Areas in Texas

You know that doesn't prove anything right?
It could be that minorities are abused so much that the police ignore their reports, or they don't bother reporting the hate crimes because they're discriminated against.
You can't really say either way. You'd need to back it up with statistics gathered from the community outside the police department

Texas law only protects physical property and your body with the authorization to use deadly force.
Also I love the fact the right to self defense is guaranteed by our Constitution.

hurr
Lets draw a line down your country. Put all the cons on one side, and all the none cons on the other.

Austin is also liberal. Has one of the highest Atheist population, if not the highest one.
San Antonio is also liberal and relaxed
For a backwards, red neck state, it sure holds a very strong and large Atheist population that really doesn't face much backlash from the surrounding communities compared to other states.
What kind of city is Houston?
Apparently I have family there
What kind of city is Houston?

that's too broad of a question.
That's like asking what kind of city is new york. There's so many different sections/too big to really define.
But I would say big, mostly liberal with a large Hispanic population, and it has bad traffic too.

Houston has a lesbian Mayor, and the "most polite" Occupy rally in the country. Cops were nice, protestors were nice, nothing happened. We'll, except for that one guy that shot an AK into a fountain and got lit up by the police.(he survived) But other than that nothing happened.

Houston has a homosexual mayor too
Could be a random cartel killing or and planned killing by an extremist right wing fundamentalist group/person, which nearly every country has.
Or it could be a racist murder commited in a state known to have a lot of triggerhappy people, in a country where Islamophobia is on the rise and where Iran is being portrayed as a rogue state that needs to be taken care of.
I've lived in Houston, Austin, Odessa (and for a while San Antonio too) for almost all my life. Sure you have your typical racist Billy-Bob occasionally, but just as often as other states have wackos and nut-jobs. We actually have a lot of southern hospitality, especially old folks.
