I got dawn of War 1 gold edition, however it's not a steam game, so I felt cheated.
I got Soulstorm retail and it let me punch my cd key in steam to add it. It only worked with SS though. Maybe you could try?
Steamer heh Downloaded a few days ago
No Tyranid battlegear for steam preorders :(
Do DoW2 owners get it as well, or just the first? [editline]10th February 2011[/editline] Nevermind, automatically added it to my steam list :buddy:
Apparently I'm really late on this, but I didn't know THQ got a new logo

Ok, After playing some games in the beta, I do not like it at all, it's like Warcraft 3 all over again with more mental retardation. Almost all the games that I've played are filled with laggers with a connection of a 56K or worse that lag up the entire game. Dumbasses that just sit there and do nothing while I'm trying to defend the point and idiots don't do nothing to help, and people automatically surrenders after 2 minutes in the game like the god damn french. So overall, I hate multiplayer in Dawn of War 2, I will only play the single-player games to avoid these fucking stupid idiots that THQ brought in.

The reason why I mentioned it's like Warcraft 3 all over again, is due to the aggressive player's. [editline]13th February 2011[/editline]
Sounds to me like it's just the community that's ruining it for you.
I think so too, almost every single game on a ranked match, someone lagging the game horribly, 1 team decided to surrender too early, and some people won't even move their own units and help each other out. That is why I don't like the multiplayer of this game, I love the single-player mode, but I no longer like the multiplayer of the game.
wtf is this [editline]13th February 2011[/editline] Looks like a car brand or some cheap electronics manufacturer logo or something

That is why I don't like the multiplayer of this game, I love the single-player mode, but I no longer like the multiplayer of the game.
I gave up on ranked matches in the original long ago. The players are generally competetive to the point of raging if they're about to lose, or even if you actually knock out one of their units. I've noticed this much less in unranked matches. It didn't help of course that GFWL was an absolute shitty matchmaker, and I'm certain that I speak for every DoW2 player when I say thank fuck they ditched it. I'm trying to get back into the MP with this, but so far I honestly have much more fun with the SP campaigns for the original DoW2 (and, thus far, Chaos Rising). I honestly think that at the very least, Relic should have either upped the pop cap or lowered the amount of pop each unit takes up. Also, while I think it was a decent move taking out the basebuilding, I do think I would like say, another building to produce units from (like an outpost or something) because honestly, I want my armies when I have the resources now, not sitting in a building queue for half an hour while the enemy team lays waste to my frontlines. Unfortunately though the liklihood of Relic implementing these changes seems to be growing from 'very unlikely' to 'unable to ever happen outside of mods' :/ Don't get me wrong I like Relic, but I wish they'd give us at least some of the features that made the original DoW great, and large(r) scale battles was one of them. Like I said though, there's always the mods, I suppose I'll just have to wait for a Skirmish mod to be released for Retribution.

I find it great fun with friends, but online nobody puts up with losing which is annoying.
hells yea I knew that dawn of war gold edition I bought on steam would come in handy one of these days
