Not severe, which is why I said battery. Also, apparently you're not putting yourself in the shoes of people who are effected, and are very close-minded.
You are arguing that someone should be hurt because you believe that they are wrong. That them exercising a right they have within the country is wrong. That you believe that their words cause so much harm that it warrants bodily damage.
Says the person arguing for assaulting protesters.
"For assaulting protesters?" Mainly, I just want this shit to stop. And by "effected" I meant the people who are attending the funerals. You don't think one of them who are grieving would want to smack the protesters?
You guys are arguing over being responsible for what you say, but you are even more responsible for what you do. True there can be consequences for what you say, but the consequences for your actions are always greater. In the end it doesn't matter how many mean or offensive words someone hurls at you, the law will not go easy on you if you assault or murder someone over what they say, and for good reason.

Then suddenly, some protesters show up and start screaming at you. Would you not want to smack one of them? You're attending the funeral of someone you loved who died a horrible death. And people are shouting that he deserved getting shot. Would you not want to do something?
If only somebody would go there with a lawnmower and you know, give them a trim :v:

Show them that you are better.
Would you not want to do something?
Oh, I imagine a great many of them would want to do more than just something. They don't get to, but they can want their hearts out.
And just for the record of the people who are trying to attack me on believing that I would attack these people. No. I would not physically harm them. I prefer mental harm. After all, mentally harming someone with what you can say is more powerful then physical harm. Plus, it's giving them a taste of their own medicine. Just because you or me don't like what they are saying or doing doesn't make it any less of a right.
And just for the record of the people who are trying to attack me on believing that I would attack these people. No. I would not physically harm them. I prefer mental harm. They can't really be hurt by words and from their legal practices they hope people take physical action against them.
So I can't want with them?
Of course you can. And I can find your wanting morally reprehensible and argue on the internet about it.
or we can just, i don't know, ignore them so we stop giving them attention ?????
Ignoring them won't work, they'll keep it up.
Ignoring them won't work, they'll keep it up.
sorry dude but you're speaking from the point of view of someone who wants to warrant violence
Wanting to do something isn't justification for acting on it. Also what the WBC is doing is a right that they have. Just because you or me don't like what they are saying or doing doesn't make it any less of a right.
It's also my right to retaliate with words and laws, which I what I wish to do. Others wish to harm.
Everyone can be broken by words, because it's how we interact with people.
It's too late for that. They are already broken. How do you think they were raised?
sorry dude but you're speaking from the point of view of someone who wants to warrant violence
I just said I don't want to warrant violence. Got any better counters? [editline]16th December 2012[/editline]
It's too late for that. They are already broken. How do you think they were raised?
Give a professional enough time with one of them, he'll have them broken again in about an hour. Many people do not end up the same as they were raised. And can always be changed by a shock of realization.
Ignoring them won't work, they'll keep it up. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline] Everyone can be broken by words, because it's how we interact with people.
Pretty sure that if they could be broken by words, they would have a long time ago. They very likely get shit for what they do every single day.
It's also my right to retaliate with words and laws, which I what I wish to do. Others wish to harm.
They aren't breaking any laws and retaliating with words is pointless because that is what they want people to do. As Ownederd said, it is better to ignore them.
Give a professional enough time with one of them, he'll have them broken again in about an hour.
You can't just undo a lifetime of religious indoctrination in an hour.
Pretty sure that if they could be broken by words, they would have a long time ago. They very likely get shit for what they do every single day.
Yeah, but it's mostly hate filled. Not logical. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline]
You can't just undo a lifetime of religious indoctrination in an hour.
I've done it to myself in about a week.
Yeah, but it's mostly hate filled. Not logical. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline] I've done it to myself in about a week.
you never use yourself as an example, because not everyone functions the same as you this is basic shit you learn in PSY 101
I've done it to myself in about a week.
I don't think you were raised the same way a WBC child is raised.
you never use yourself as an example, because not everyone functions the same as you this is basic shit you learn in PSY 101
I've made others question their religion as well, but it took a much longer time period. Plus sometimes it's harder to understand yourself then it is to understand others, so I used myself as a quick example. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline]
I don't think you were raised the same way a WBC child is raised.
Does being raised as a Jehovah's witness count?
Someone should arrange a group that just protests and are assholes to funerals of the WBC. That would either make them stop or they'd hit you and you can take legal action against them. :v:
I've done it to myself in about a week.
Most of them are over 13 so you don't really compare.
Yeah, but it's mostly hate filled. Not logical.
No, many of them are aware of what they're doing and are in it just for the money. Their very purpose is to piss people off, they're trolls, they know someone will try to "talk them out" and they're ready for it because they don't mean jack shit of what they say. You can't talk people out of shit they don't believe in the first place.
Most of them are over 13 so you don't really compare.
Quite amusing, considering you don't know my age. Is bringing my age into this discussion mean that you have no other counters to my points? They could be both in my opinion. But hey, that's my opinion man.
Quite amusing, considering you don't know my age. Is bringing my age into this discussion mean that you have no other counters to my points.
lmao why are you making this so personal
The problem is WBC members are taught to love everyone and to warn them that the bible is the literal word of god and that going against it is a straight ticket to hell. They pretty much believe that things like this mass shooting happens because god is pissed at us for whatever dumb reasons the bible details, and that this is God's way of letting off steam and just throwing people to hell. What makes something like this even more difficult to deal with is to them protesting funerals like this is an act of love.
