Plus, I don't expect a pep talk to undo brainwashing. I expect a quiet room with a few people to undo brainwashing. It really doesn't take much for some brainwashing to be undone. Just depends on the person, and what words get through to them. In a room of 20 people, about three will start questioning their religion if spoken to correctly. Only three. Just have to convince them. Also, to anybody else who questions this logic of human understanding. Sorry if I believe that mindless brainwashed zombie religion hoards don't exist?
The problem is how do you go and do this? I guarantee you you're not going to get them to come to such a thing willingly. And you can't legally force them to come.
It really doesn't take much for some brainwashing to be undone.
We better trust him guys, he unbrainwashed himself in just a few weeks, he's probably like an expert or something.
I will quit smoking weed if WBC is disbanded.

Unless it really is a religion zombie hoard that will only scream at you, a few of them are willing to engage in conversation.
Am I missing something Paramud? I'm pretty sure it's against some sort of law to deliberately piss people off
No it isn't, and being able to protest is a constitutional right.
We better trust him guys, he unbrainwashed himself in just a few weeks, he's probably like an expert or something.
Far from it, I just know what I'm talking about. But I'm not expert. Plus, do you really need a PHD in Psychology to understand how a brain works? Even if I was an expert, had a PHD or whatever... Would anybody believe me? No.
You've got to be fucking kidding me
No it isn't, and being able to protest is a constitutional right.
So... You're protesting me? :v: Oh my, WBC has a Facepunch account.
Fuck them. Fuck them fuck them fuck them. I'm all for religious freedom, but damn it, fuck them.
I've made others question their religion as well, but it took a much longer time period. Plus sometimes it's harder to understand yourself then it is to understand others, so I used myself as a quick example. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline] Does being raised as a Jehovah's witness count?
Just stop talking...
No it isn't, and being able to protest is a constitutional right.
You call that protesting? They're deliberately trying to get people riled up the point of retaliation and then they sue them. Sure they can hide under the guise of "protesting" but really they're just being egregious (SCOTUS has used that before to limit Freedom of Speech in some cases) Right to protest until it gets someone hurt. (Threat to public safety etc etc)
Money I heard somewhere that a lot of its members are lawyers, and they sue the ass off of everyone who tries to harm them
Dead people can't sue
I hope someone does worse than what some of these guys did to them
You call that protesting? They're deliberately trying to get people riled up the point of retaliation and then they sue them.
How long have you been sitting on this evidence and letting them get away with it? You heartless bastard.
Sure they can hide under the guise of "protesting" but really they're just being egregious (SCOTUS has used that before to limit Freedom of Speech in some cases)
Ah, the supreme court. Where constitutional rights don't mean a thing.
And give them more money? nah.
Some of them got their shit slapped by a soldier during a picketing session, don't know if the soldier got in hot water though.
I personally love that they have the right to do this.
So it would be pretty cool if someone could give me a real reason why mass murder would be ok in the case of WBC. So far the only thing I've seen as an argument is dumb ratings and "grr I hope they all die".
I thought Fred Phelps was on his way out the door, maybe people should picket his funeral, then again two wrongs don't make a right.
it'll more than most likely happen, and WBC will have to deal with it taste of their own medicine
One day, people WILL riot, and the local police force will not be able to handle the amount of people rushing their position.
One day, people WILL riot, and the local police force will not be able to handle the amount of people rushing their position.
I don't understand what you're trying to argue. This happens pretty much every year and will happen regardless of whether or not people have a right to protest.
I don't understand what you're trying to argue. This happens pretty much every year and will happen regardless of whether or not people have a right to protest.
He's not trying to argue anything. All he's saying is that protesting (or whatever) a place where kids were MURDERED is not going to end well for them, at all. “Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment." If that doesn't sound like baiting, I don't know what is. And yeah, I'm glad everyone's right to protest, freedom of speech and whatnot is protected, but when you have people like WBC that straight-up abuse it to be egregious and enrage people, it just gets ridiculous.
I don't understand what you're trying to argue. This happens pretty much every year and will happen regardless of whether or not people have a right to protest.
When they pick on small events, one person like deals, they tend to do fine, when they picket memorials, they get attacked or surrounded. This is one of those cases.
Why?
but when you have people like WBC that straight-up abuse it to be egregious and enrage people, it just gets ridiculous.
Doesn't mean you can take that right away.
Doesn't mean you can take that right away.
Pretty much, and it wont get taken away. I'm not advocating that it does/should get taken away, all I'm saying is their abuse of it will not end well for them.
I'm not advocating that it does/should get taken away
Really? Because you were earlier.
I really hope there's some way the government can shut these guys up.

Really? Because you were earlier.
"Some way" does not mean I was looking to the super extreme view of removing an entire constitutionally granted right.
Pretty much, and it wont get taken away. I'm not advocating that it does/should get taken away, all I'm saying is their abuse of it will not end well for them.
You can't abuse a right.
