His life was in immediate danger, he gave several verbal warnings, a cop was moving around the perimeter to attempt a less forceful take-down using a taser, and the officer exercised proper trigger discipline by only firing two rounds, and then proceeded to continue issuing warnings until the suspect was confirmed disabled. This is a textbook case of a justified escalation of force. He followed protocol to the letter, both before and after the shooting.

It is the exact opposite of everything that they stand for. Everything else is about freedom, protecting the consumer, an understanding that taking care of every part of society is important as a whole, and personal rights. All of which have mounds of evidence supporting them as being beneficial. Then you have gun control, which has mounds of evidence pointing out that is is completely useless and not functional inside the US, and yet it is totally ignored. I think it is a point on which technically both sides should agree, but we have reached a point where each party is so adversarial, that the other side will take the opposing opinion, no matter how batshit insane it is, just to garner more votes.
