Plenty other groups around, so...good for them?
Unless other cracking teams do the same, companies will continue to make claims that piracy devastate sales... kinda pointless Hope 3DM actually comes back in a year
Wonder if that's actually the case or if their hobby is gonna suck ass because of how hard denuvo is to crack.
Plenty other groups around, so...good for them?
3DM is the only one who's managed crack Denuvo. Everybody else has either given up or not tried. Not that it matters since the version of Denuvo in Just Cause 3 was already so hard to crack he gave up too, but still.
Considering that there's still plenty of other groups out there, this won't have that much of an impact.
Considering that there's still plenty of other groups out there, this won't have that much of an impact.
It means that for at least the next year, any games using Denuvo (which means Mankind Divided, the new Hitman, Mass Effect: Andromeda and a slew of other high profile games) will be uncrackable.

Denuvo seems to have beaten even the most notorious crackers. That's impressive.
good
Pretty much in agreement, Denuvo seems to have basically no effect whatsoever on paying customers and only fucks pirates. And if you read the comments on Denuvo games on KAT they're just filled with people who have given up and bought them. Good for the devs who get extra money from this without fucking over paying customers.

You could argue that happened with jc3. I guess that's what the group wants to find out. Not that it matters since denuvo is going to get cracked sooner or later. denuvos job is to keep things uncracked as long as it can, nobody expects it to last long
Not quite sure about the developed countries, but 3rd world countries will not have significantly more sales for AAA even if the pirated games aren't circulating. Mostly because of the fact that a 60$ games may often be 1/2 or 1/3 of an average man's monthly salary. The biggest increase to sales if 3DM stops doing their magic will be in games that are multiplayer-centric (like GTA, Battlefield or CoD. My country's netcafes sometimes have cracked MW2 campaign mode, so people can brag about how cool they played Coward's Duty.), indie games (which is actually a good thing), and games that are sub-30$. Alternatively, People will just switch to older games or F2P games like DOTA2 or LoL where the monetary impacts are less obvious (although they are just as dangerous - tales of Crossfire accounts spending over 1000$ for cosmetic items and 1337hax0rs are very common here). And of course, publishers will always find a new scapegoat for when their anally-annihilated golden goose suddenly stops giving the Dan-Bilzerian-wannabe CEOs new cruise ships and hot naked bitches holding Pina Coladas.
It really is impressive they managed to create something that has every popular cracking scene groups scratching their heads and eventually giving up. The last game/DRM that took so long to crack was back in 2005 with Splinter Cell Chaos Theory using StarForce, which I think lasted a year and a half before it got cracked. Denuvo managed to step it up even further and potentially stopping games getting cracked for a good couple of years or so even. The only 'cracked' Denuvo-protected game right now is Lords of the Fallen, and it's mostly because they just found an exploit and emulated Denuvo inside a dll to trick the game and Denuvo that it's running a legit copy. Denuvo updated their DRM afterwards, that subsequent games remain only 'partially cracked' since they're either unstable or really glitchy like MGSV, Mad Max and Arkham Knight (though Arkham Knight was terribly ported already by itself lol) and so far Just Cause 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider remain an impenetrable fortress.

Isn't Denuvo more like a system that checks if the game is currently cracked and integrity is alright? Reminds me of Spyro 3 protection which was quite difficult to crack too and I guess used the same principles.
hawx 2 went uncracked for a long time, 831 days to be precise
Damn didn't know that, I remember HAWX 2 was using the same online-server DRM thing Assassin's Creed 2 was also using. AC2 was eventually cracked via server emulation then Ubisoft updated AC2 again to just use traditional DRM via one time online activation. Now I'm curious why HAWX 2 remained uncracked for 831 days. :v:

Its a layer of encryption that's applied to existing DRM's like Steam Back in 08' I would of been bummed but with services like GoG and steam that also have refunds I don't really care anymore.
Starforce went a while before being cracked, also, but I'm happy it was. Games with that shit that I bought I would crack just to avoid it. It could cause all sorts of hardware issues. More than 1 disc drive? You're obviously up to no good, you're not playing. Along with my personal experience with it revving my drive to max RPM. Usually pushing the button stops it and then ejects, but not this time. That tray opened immediately and flung my disc out like a frisbee, ruining both the disc and the optic in the drive
Wasn't there some sort of controversy surrounding Denuvo and games like Lords of the Fallen or DA:I. That being that Denuvo was actually causing a decent impact on game performance? I know there was some claims of it "killing hard drives", but that is just beyond ridiculous. Also, while I think it will be an interesting study, I also think it will either just give more scenes a chance to shine, or will only make a negligible difference. Besides, most people I know usually just opt for SKIDROW or RELOADED anyway.

If that's true or not I don't know since I didn't follow the news but that was the worry at the time.
So I guess we stopped caring that denuvo takes a good chunk of your processor power for the steady enryption and decryption. Also what happened to the SSD problems
The SSD thing was just some shit a guy made up that couldn't be replicated. I don't know about about lords of the fallen but DA:I just runs like shit because of terrible GPU optimization.

Very often they take a really long time to put out a crack and often put out one that's not even fully functional. CODEX seems to sort of be ahead of the pack nowadays as they're always super fast with everything.
So I guess we stopped caring that denuvo takes a good chunk of your processor power for the steady enryption and decryption. Also what happened to the SSD problems
They were made up.
I enjoy that what they're going to do for this year is localize games that aren't available for their region. That's some honest fuckin work right there if i've ever seen it.
So I guess we stopped caring that denuvo takes a good chunk of your processor power for the steady enryption and decryption. Also what happened to the SSD problems
It was slander to get people to hate Denuvo
So I guess we stopped caring that denuvo takes a good chunk of your processor power for the steady enryption and decryption. Also what happened to the SSD problems
Denuvo doesn't even really encrypt anything; people just like making shit up against DRM.
Denuvo doesn't even really encrypt anything; people just like making shit up against DRM.
Can you provide some sources? All I can find on google is that some sort of encryption is going on.
3DM sucks anyways.
