2014 may not have been a great movie, but it's definitely better than '98 Godzilla, that's for damn sure. Also, no one can resist 2014 Zilla's physique. :v:
The fact that they were boring was the movie's greatest drawback. The amount of Godzilla, I'll argue, was totally fine. They were trying to very carefully balance how much you saw because they wanted to make sure the impact of the finale and everything had the right weight. If you had seen Godzilla for a full 30 minutes before the finale, it'd have been routine by then and that would suck too.
Yeah that's true. Depends on waht the movie is going for. If it's trying to be serious, less monster = good, but if the characters suck it completely falls apart.
FUCKING FORD BRODY 2010 Godzilla is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. CLOVERFIELD was fucking better than that shit. I go in, thinking, okay this scientist dude is our lead character. He's interesting and he's going to uncover this whole thing and then Godzilla will wreak havoc and he'll have to save the day. Then, his fucking stupid ass son comes into play with his dumbass fucking leather jacket and USMC background, and then [sp]Walter White Dies[/sp]. So it's like "okay? Now this dude with the most generic american name ever, FORD BRODY, is the main character". Then you see a huge monster and you're like HELL YEAH LAS VEGAS IS GONNA GET FUCKED UP and just before the destruction, they cut the entire scene out and all you see is the thing walking away with the city destroyed. The fucking monsters were only about 5% of the screentime, and the only big fight scene or big scene with all the destruction in it and city smashing was in the last 10 minutes of the movie Nobody gives a fuck about the USMC Nobody gives a fuck about Ford Brody Nobody gives a fuck about anything that happens in a monster movie EXCEPT FOR THE FUCKING MONSTERS
jeez i enjoyed the movie i thought it was pretty good
Im sorry, did i not get the memo when we suddenly hated the 2014 Godzilla?
Im sorry, did i not get the memo when we suddenly hated the 2014 Godzilla?
I loved it in cinemas and I still love it. I get why people might dislike it but posts like this:
2010 Godzilla is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Jesus, you either have obscenely high standards for movies or you have not seen many bad movies.
Im sorry, did i not get the memo when we suddenly hated the 2014 Godzilla?
2014 was one of my favorites, I guess people thought it would be akin more to Pacific Rim.
I loved 98's and 2014's Godzilla, but that's also probably because its godzilla and i could care less about anything else, cause its mother fucking Godzilla.
The 2014 movie was bad mainly because they kept cutting away from the Godzilla moments to focus on the humans who aside from Joe were boring and uninteresting. iirc Godzilla in that movie had less than 20 minutes of overall screen time, though when they actually let us see Godzilla it was friggin awesome like that climax fight. I just hope this new Godzilla film will either show Godzilla for most of the movie or split the human and monster scenes up 50/50 but make the humans actually interesting.
For the last time, it's a god damned disaster film, not a damn generic showa era quick kaiju flick. Those were just tiring and mindless garbage. I really hope this next film keeps the same feel the previous had.

"Let them fight." is a very powerful quote, in my opinion.
