So I should be allowed to say that people deserve cancer?
That sounds great!
P.s. you should have cancer.

No, you're right, we should not be allowed to post anything that might hurt our feelings.
Also, the appalling amount of irony and hypocrisy in this thread is hilarious. You're quick to tell people that cancer is no joke, yet in the same breath you rabidly attack all those who dare say anything that isn't entirely supportive of TB. Where's the logic in that? You're trying to argue against irrational hatred using irrational hatred?

Wow that is one hell of a hole you've dug yourself into.

Yes, which is why I said 'in this thread'.
Get ready for the Dark Ages of gaming if we lose TB.
He admitted to having been shitting blood for about a year before getting checked so yeah
uh oh
I'd be humiliated if I started shitting blood and had to go get it checked, but his vlog video on the subject did make me question it.
It could easily be me or any of my friends or family in his position and I'd risk my life or they'd risk theirs over feeling embarrassed that a doctor has to check out my ass? Which they'd do hundreds of times, probably just in a single week?
I do hope people take his video and situation to heart and get themselves checked out more often. I'm 21 and I have visited the doctor maybe 50 times in total for things like colds and stomach bugs and that, but never anything serious. I am going to take what he said and keep a better eye on myself and not let embarrassment get in the way of my health because it's just silly.

Not to downplay his importance, but TB basically carved out his market in terms of demographics and style of content. If he wasn't able to keep up with his channel and perhaps needed to take a long leave for his health, someone will become the replacement.
People will find the person that does something like TB and they will begin to follow them. Same for almost any content.

I agree with the general sentiment of your post but I wouldn't recommend ever going to the doctor for a cold unless it's gone on for an unusually long time or is giving strange symptoms (in which case, yes, absolutely get it checked out). there's nothing a doctor can do to speed a cold's recovery and you're just likely to spread it, which will make everyone less effective.
it's possible that you and I have completely different ideas of what constitutes a cold, but yeah. all you can do is treat the symptoms, which you can do with OTC medication.

That's a fair enough thing to say, when I say I went for colds I don't any more, just as a kid I ended up there like once a week for a month or 2 because of what i eventually figured out was stress. But I used to go all the time for cold medicine, but nah i don't anymore.

For real, that's not a troll comment, I am authentically happy when something bad happens to somebody I don't like.

Nevermind wishing cancer on Hitler or on the idiots of Boko Haram who would benefit mankind only when they're dead, let's wish for cancer on someone who doesn't likes the same video games I like!
You know, me and my friends were just joking on the parking lot about the comic book stuff that if it were to happen in real life, like a spider biting you or getting heavy doses of radiation, we'd go "maybe ill get super powers! oh wait nope, cancer..."
then I get home and find this article, and suddenly feel bad... Hopefully he'll be able to fight it.
I am the only one that doesn't know who is TotalBiscuit? Anyway, thats a terrible news, I feel bad for him.

game reviewer on YT
Kinda like Angry Joe (hopefully you know who he is) or like Ashens, imo, since they all actually care for the world of the things they review (Ashens hating on repaint toys, Angry Joe hating very small games and obvious cash grabs, and TB hating on bad ports) wanting the best quality out of something.
Some of the posts in this thread really make me question the nature of the people who made them.
And Cureless's post is one of the worst things I've seen in recent times on the forum, ever.

He is also a caster for Starcraft and Hearthstone, manager for the Starcraft 2 team Axiom and organizer (along with MLG) for the Starcraft 2 tournament Shoutcraft!
He has done a lot for certain communities.

Some people need antagonists in their lives is the best way I can explain this phenomenon.
Oh hadn't realized he moved back.
Moved back?
He had always lived in the UK until he got married. Took him 4 years to get a Visa, and in that time, he was separated from his wife and child. First after that he could move to the USA, which was some time in 2012.
I predicted someone would say this, why does anyone need to know if you like him or not? He makes informative videos about video games, why do you need to like or dislike him as a person?
I dislike him not because of his videos but because of how rude he was replying to a comment I made on one of his videos regarding the performance of Minecraft, I told him it was not Java that made Minecraft slow but the fact that Minecraft suffers from poor optimization, I can't even remember his exact answer but it wasn't nice and he was full of himself, followed by his army of minions, so I just gave up and never looked at the comments again. Regardless, I don't wish cancer on anyone, I had an aunt close to me who died from cancer last year and it's not a pretty sight seeing someone being destroyed from the inside out, but her cancer was only found 2 years after she first got it, so she didn't have much of a chance to fight back, at least things are looking good in those terms for TotalBiscuit and I wish him the best no matter what I think of him personally.

I've had anal fissures before, so if I shit a little blood and my anus hurts, I usually assume it's fine. But if I ever shit blood painlessly, I'll be worried.

That's a pretty good rule in general.

He's rich enough to afford good insurance. Nobody who can afford it is going to take the risk by not having any.

He can afford it, but it's still terribly expensive. He doesn't exactly make as much as a professional football player.
He has to maintain his equipment, take care of his family and dog, pay for transport for journalism reasons, etc.
