I like how everyone acts like a tough guy here yet I can assure you that most of you would be too afraid to do anything.
Racist shit.
Wait what? How was that racist?
I say I see everyone always goes "I hope he gets raped in prison" but someone has to do the raping which means one of the criminals will have to do it, so wishing everyone to get raped doesn't work.
Has nothing to do with race but since everyone also mentions "getting pounded by a black cock" I guess stereotyping is ok.
They're gonna get caught sooner or later... possibly sooner because of the fact that they are black and the fact that they are black helps in profiling.
There were 3 robbers. She was on the second floor, they didn't know she was there yet. One of the men was on the floor wrestling with the husband (aka not a threat to her yet). She could have easily shot the first guy because they didn't know she was there, shot the second guy because it's easier for her to reacquire a target and shot him before the second guy even realizes where she is and aims at her, and we can assume the third guy was unarmed (firearm-wise) because you don't wrestle well while holding a pistol.
Stop acting like it's a hard thing to do, they weren't sniping for christs sake they're in a house where the targets are 20 feet away.
Stop acting like she wasn't under a great deal of distress. Have you ever been in a situation like this one before?
According to what was stated in the article the first thing she thought was the protection of her children, and not how best to kill/mortally wound the robbers.

Oh, sorry. I thought you where talking about the people doing the torture, since the news article said they were black. I assumed you meant the torturers where going to rape the people in the house since they where black.
Own guns.
Agreed. I own tons of them.

Same here. Its always nice to know that 3 fucked up people who want to hurt people live so close.
"Police said all of the men were black and about 5 feet 10 inches tall. One man has a thin build, another has a large build and the third has a medium build."
What a great description of the perpetrators, I am sure they will find them with this critical information.

It's better than nothing.
Yeah pulling a gun on someone who's in a mental state to torture someone would be a great idea we could've had a story about a family being killed instead.
Yes, we should all just roll over and let people torture us in our homes.
It's better than nothing.
I would not really be describing a torturers facial hairs while my balls are being lit on fire.
Yes, we should all just roll over and let people torture us in our homes.
Maybe they should tackle the root of this type of problems, namely things like the ever-increasing social gap, organized crime and similar?
Instead of recommending scared citizens to get a gun, since that's a sloppy workaround instead of attacking the cause of this at the core.

Yeah no shit. Exactly what I have been pointing out for years.
Doesn't change the fact that we aren't fixing those problems any time soon. Half our political system is too busy attempting to fuck over the other half at any given time to actually accomplish anything other than deprive us of our civil rights.
So for the foreseeable future, your best bet is to get a gun. The fuckers running this mess get voted out and replaced with more morons who do exactly the same crap. If nothing else, buy a gun so that when this shit hits the fan and our political system tries to actually murder itself, you aren't totally up shit creek.
Yes, we should all just roll over and let people torture us in our homes.
Hello false dichotomy.
Guns are not the solution, building up a better society, is. We have no guns here in Denmark, and we're doing pretty well, compared to pretty much the rest of the world. Robberies will always happen, and it's not certain in any way that owning a gun would have produced a better outcome. Crimes happen because of social issues, whether it'd be money or some other reason, and you'll have to fix that in order to stop this kind of thing. And with a gun, three men would have died (and if they didn't die, the family would probably get hurt much more than they did in this case) and while it may seem insane, I'd say it's better that one person get tortured than risking lives and killing people.

"I immediately got out of my bedroom and peered over the top of the stairs to see what was going on downstairs, and I immediately saw men with masks, and they were wrestling with (Ted), and I immediately went around to get my children," Ted's fiancee told 11 News.
What good is a fucking gun going to do if the robber already has me as a hostage? I'd rather be tortured than expect my fiancee to risk shooting me by accident.
Why do gun "enthusiasts" think they're some kind of magical device that automatically prevents bad things from happening
It's much harder to fix a country that has 10x the population and 5x the retarded politicians. While fixing society is a better solution, you cannot do that. What you can do though is get a gun to protect yourself in the society you live in.

Lot of anti gun jibber jabber in here.
Which is why I'm more than proud and happy to be in possession of a LOT of guns.

yeah look out the crazy dickhead with a knife is gonna magically slaughter everyone as he's being lit up by someone who has the drop on him with a gun

You don't just pull a gun on someone who's trying to harm your family; you pull the trigger the second you point the gun at them. No questions asked, no second chances.

You can't hold someone hostage if you don't even know someone is pointing a gun at you.
That's why in home invasion cases it's generally a better idea to shoot the criminal immediately. It's dangerous to do otherwise.

Yeah, if somebody forces their way into my house that I do not know, I see that as a life threatening situation. I will shoot them in center mass without hesitation. Better to protect the lives of my wife and I than worry about some scumbag's agenda.
And I can't believe some of you in this thread are actually ok with the idea of just assuming that the most these guys would do is just torture you.
If someone broke in my house and started torturing me I would have already assumed that I was going to be killed.

The whole political correctness bullshit has gotten to the majority of people. They worry about others' feelings too much, when their lives could be on the line.
Worry about yourself and your family first, then worry about others.
I will quote myself again here: "Yeah, if somebody forces their way into my house that I do not know, I see that as a life threatening situation. I will shoot them in center mass without hesitation. Better to protect the lives of my wife and I than worry about some scumbag's agenda. "
How do people disagree with this? "Oh guns are bad...blah blah..." Well, if some criminal has a gun or an instrument to do harm with, PROTECT YOUR FUCKING SELF! Dammit.
/rant.

Becuase a gun can stop the attacker before he has a chance to take you hostage. Anyone can drop a scenario and make the gun the bad guy, but the truth is in most situations having a gun to defend yourself sure will even the odds.
Who would rather be tortured than have their other shoot a criminal and put them in danger? I understand what you're trying to say, but the way I think of it is when a gun is present in your home, it is your responsibility to know how to use it properly and respect it, and make sure everyone in that house also knows how to respect it properly, and use it.

Evey one has an opinion on others lives until theirs is in jeopardy. Anyone who thinks an attacker deserves his life would quickly change their minds if it we their families lives on the line.

Most people's reply to this:
"but but but the criminal has a family and feelings too!!!"
I bet they'd think again when something shitty happens to them. They'll be wishing they had their weapon handy.
