why?
Why would you move to a country to work, with no employment prepared, and expect to receive an allowance whilst you look for one?
If I were going to move to another country to work, I'd at least have made adequate savings to survive for 4-6 months without putting a burden that country's taxpayers.
Yes, it's a moral obligation, but the mindset of acting like you're 'owed something' is discordant.

Many proponents of immigration seem to think a citizens lack the moral right to govern their own state and deciding who they let in.
Ah yeah fair enough, health care and edcuation should always be 'social' and available to everyone.
Job Seekers Allowance/dole/child benefits should not be.
Why not? Because those people are "lazy" or some other stupid assumption?

Nobody should be allowed to use the state to bar somebody from living where they please.
If they want to live by themselves, they can go set up a gated community or something.

If the democratic system is in order, the british people are the countries "owners". They are the state and they decide who to let in.
Are you against any border control at all? If not, who should decide upon it if not the people? You?

What's the difference? Think of the UK as a huge gated community if you like, provided its people want it that way.
I'm still waiting for the UKIP to set up international branches. How can I possibly have freedom or a job without the Canadian Independence Party to blame things on immigrants and minorities?

The problem of having UKIP in power isn't just that it'll hinder immigration for poor, unskilled people. It will also hinder immigration for skilled workers and students.
Sidetracking a bit but regardless of the politics I honestly think if more politicians wanted to be electable they should study how Nigel Farage presents himself and speaks in a debate or in an interview. He doesn't seem to refrain from actually answering a question even when its tough and cuts straight to the issue. I think this this "no nonsense" approach is what attracts people to UKIP rather than the policies. I have a hard time actually believing what Cameron or Milliband say, there just doesn't seem to be any conviction as it has to be presented in a way that it is almost "media friendly".
Example of what I mean:

He doesn't answer much of anything IMO, most of the time it's needless chain rattling and bombastic claims of what he's going to do in office (but never how he's going to do it)
I skipped to a random point in the video and he's accusing another party leader of "droning on about the eu and boring eveyrone to death" or w/e
Lot's of style, little substance.

he might play up the clean-cut straightforward act, but there's a lot of evasion involved in running a party that can only talk about a single subject. i guess the fact that he's gotten this far in this way is worth something, but i would only recommend it if you find yourself running a party that isn't actually a party at all and desperately needing to convince most of the country otherwise.
