lol no the gameplay was revolutionary at the time it came out
the character for me was just annoying colour to make the game different from doom
I Think Doom 3 was a great game par to the old ones not sure how great this will be to the old Duke Nukem
I Think Doom 3 was a great game par to the old ones not sure how great this will be to the old Duke Nukem
A lot about Doom 3 was the graphics and atmosphere which at the time were astounding and even now hold out okay (bar the pointy poly use). It also had a solid feel which you need in a shooter. DNF feels underwhelming as a shooter. The best points are Duke and the interactivity. MICROWAVING POPCORN SO REALISTIC
Ninegn reviews are almost never the worst. Expect lower scores elsewhere.
I swear your avatar every fucking time.
DNF wasn't nearly as bad as people are saying it was. Stop bitching.
IGN reviews are usually the worst, DNF wasn't a disaster, but it was subpar
It's a disaster only because of the long dev time and the massive hype they built behind it
DNF wasn't nearly as bad as people are saying it was. Stop bitching.
I enjoyed it in parts, but overall it was pretty average and some bits were quite bad. Is that bitching?
If people are allowed to like CoD, I'm allowed to like DNF.

No, but I don't recall my post saying.
"DNF wasn't nearly as bad as people are saying it was. Stop bitching, MisterM."
Why the fuck did they took so long.?

yea but horse shit is better CoD
Garry was right this whole time
it was a flop
Garry wasn't the first nor the only to say it would be bad.
Garry wasn't the first nor the only to say it would be bad.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone I talked to knew it wasn't going to be as good as it promised.
I trust totalbiscuit to give me a good review on a game that's been in development for much too long. I'm not at all impressed by it. Not a chance I'll be buying it.
You could see the bad quality of it during development leaks. This isn't a surprise to me at all.
The game doesn't suck, people were too hyped and expected the best game ever.
Why the fuck did they took so long.?
If Broussard had his way and 2K paid out again, 3D Realms would currently be remaking the game from scratch again. They wanted it to be the best looking game ever, and wanted to add in any new feature he liked the look of from other games.
It's allright so far but it's just really a mind numbing comedy game. It's just a time passer if i get bored of my other games for a bit. It's there it makes me laugh and passes the time. Its a medicore game but I don't think its purpose was to revolutionise the genre it was merely to entertain the entertainable.
I just finished DNF. I lowered my standards and, just like the game, just didn't care.
And I have to say, I had an absolute blast.

I'm not saying you were directing that me or I'm taking offence. Just wondering, say what rating you'd give it?
METRO WAS BETTER AYE!
called it when gearbox was announced as the dev
I think it's funny when people try to say the game is intentionally bad and ironic to mock other current gen games.
once HL3/Episode 3 is released, we will have no more horribly delayed games :saddowns:
We don't have to worry about that for a while...
Duke Nukem is essentially a throwback to the 1990s shooters, including past duke, I used to play.
It seems like that's part of the problem, though, it doesn't feel like it contributed anything solid to the gaming scene.
It also feels like the last 1/4 of the game was rushed as fuck, [sp]what a boring ending[/sp]

Except how I see it, with 2 weapon/regenerating shield/gun melee mechanics, it's a throwback to the early 2000s when the majority of fps games started copying Halo.
As I said above, if it was copying 90s mechanics today that would ironically be innovative amongst recent fps games.

yea they should have it been sold in the 1990's or early 2000's
If you take it as a sequel for a great game that was in development for 12 years, it's pretty bad.
If you take it as a "normal" game that just got released, there's much worse stuff out there and it doesn't really stand out in any way other than interactivity.
Looking forward to the RPS review.
Was considering preordering, but now I'll wait for a decent sale.
I got a copy of Duke 3D off Gog.com and it's fun to play with eduke32 now and then.
[editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
The 2 gun mechanic looks retarded.
It was nice in Duke3D not having to choose between carrying a rocket launcher and a shotgun.
Now we wait for to make a wedding cake for an alien wedding on the moon. (ZP reference)
anyways, yes I am going to buy this game
no I do not care if it gets bad scores.
Demo was horrible. Not worth $60 at all.
Man I think you got ripped off... Demos are free. Maybe you should find that guy in the trenchcoat you purchased the demo from and demand your money back.

Is the demo available to everyone now?
I thought it was for preorders. At least on PC.
