Some people are really that devoted to a character but nobody with a mind healthy enough to operate a computer and feed an image file to the screen thinks feeding pizza to that file will result in anything but a very tasty screen.

Those /a/ threads are amazing. I actually went out of my way to choose a waifu back in '07 just to participate in the collage. It's just a "see this whole bunch of images? That one's mine! That's my monitor!" thing. Not a "look how delusional I am, I even take a photo to prove my love is real!" thing.

Sometimes I really do worry for /a/. Especially because 90% of them actually do appear to be lonely weirdos, at least on 2chan 80% of the "lonely souls" actually aren't like half of the 2ch goddesses (tl note: girls (and dudes, but they are not called goddesses obviously) that like posting (normally) revealing pictures of themselves) have boyfriends/husbands and shit

I like how 2ch is calling us weirdos even though we got the idea from them. Also, they apparently don't get that a lot of them (especially the ones /v/ did) were done as jokes.

This shit used to be a funny joke. I don't have a waifu, but I participated in last year's collage just for fun, because I thought this kind of thing was funny. There was so much hatefulness and argumentative people in those threads, though. So many people getting shit on because they aren't 'taking it seriously' or 'respecting waifuism'. What the [u]fuck[/u]. Most of the fun for me in these is seeing the funny submissions, like Okabe and Gaben. Including only 'serious' ones just makes it sad and sorta cringeworthy to look at. It's impossible to tell since they're just pictures, but I'm sure some of these people genuinely need help.
