They need to at least have a reference to an actual fox in there.
I think they are trying too hard to make something unique Moz://a is okay tho
Jesus Mozilla just go full retard and take over the Netscape logo already, we know that's where you came from
[t]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_C_open_1-1400x990.jpg[/t] If you want to look like a knockoff Baskin Robbins, sure. All the logos look awful.
fixed the baskin robbins look with a better colour scheme [t]http://i.imgur.com/oOmQq6Q.png[/t]
They need to at least have a reference to an actual fox in there.
i think they're replacing the official corporation wordmark and not the firefox red panda [editline]21st August 2016[/editline] they all look pretty bad though, worse than what they have right now there's a reason we don't use 80s and 90s designs anymore and that's because it's not the 80s and 90s
fixed the baskin robbins look with a better colour scheme [t]http://i.imgur.com/oOmQq6Q.png[/t]
'Heroes never die But our JavaScript engine does quite often'
They're all pretty bad imo. The one I like best is the impossible M, but the colours and dots kind of remind me of something you'd see on a summer music festival poster.
The only product they make is Firefox. Is it any wonder people confuse them?
Mozilla do a shitload of things outside of FF that nobody actually knows them for. In terms of applications they do have Thunderbird, a pretty solid email client. There's also Firefox OS, which just hasn't gone anywhere of note. A lot of their projects just kinda stagnate or straight up die (in the case of SeaMonkey). But they also contribute a reasonable amount of documentation for the HTML and JS spec, to the point that most other browsers just direct you to their wiki. Their efforts in creating a cross platform GUI markup has seen some use elsewhere. And they are actively pushing for more secure browsers, etc. Of all the logos the Moz://a one is probably the smartest one and actually reasonable one. The others are just kinda abstract shapes and colours for the most part...
Either the 2nd one or the modified 3rd one that Daniel Smith just posted.
how about this one?
how about this one?
it would be like Microsoft using this as their logo [img]http://thewindowsclub.thewindowsclubco.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Microsoft_Edge_browser_logo.png[/img]
They're all terrible but if I had to choose one I'd pick Moz://a.
I'd go for this one [t]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_D_protocol_1-1400x990.jpg[/t]
Makes me think of a car company stuck in the 70s. All the designs are stupid.
Should've gone with flat "Mozilla" text in a modern font.
as an aspiring graphic designer i thought i'd make one that is objectively good deus magnum opus :')
Remember guys this isn't to change the Firefox logo, it's the Mozilla logo.
I'd go for this one [t]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_D_protocol_1-1400x990.jpg[/t]
Maybe make the colors something other than blue, it being blue makes me thing of Microsoft for some reason, especially that light blue on the "oz" and "a" that seems to be the same light blue that's all over Win10. Oh and ://
Oh and ://
What about it? That's literally at the start of every url. It looking like :/ is not a problem.
The second one is pretty nice, and the fifth is good but doesn't really suit an internet browser unfortunately.
What about it? That's literally at the start of every url. It looking like :/ is not a problem.
Just thought it was funny.
As an actual logo, I think [thumb]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_B_connector_1-1400x990.jpg[/thumb] looks the best. It's kind of clever, but it just looks a bit weird unless you actually know that it spells mozilla. I think the moz://a is clever, but not really good to use as a logo. Weird that they're all bad, I don't think mozilla is incapable of coming up with good logos. There's firefox, which is recognizable and good. And I also think rust-lang has a good logo that fits it well [thumb]https://www.rust-lang.org/logos/rust-logo-512x512.png[/thumb] [sp]a good logo for a programming language is exceptionally hard to find[/sp]
The second one is pretty nice, and the fifth is good but doesn't really suit an internet browser unfortunately.
Again, this is for mozilla itself. They do more than Firefox.
[sp]a good logo for a programming language is exceptionally hard to find[/sp]
But yeah like others have said, Mozilla does a ton of other stuff other than just Firefox and they want to go away with being seen as "mozilla == firefox"
[T]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_A_eye_1-1400x990.jpg[/T] [T]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_D_protocol_1-1400x990.jpg[/T] [T]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_F_impossible_1-1400x990.jpg[/T]
These are the only halfway decent ones.
What's wrong with the current one?
It's not that it's ugly or dated. It's just boring. One font. Big and small with one color. Very simple but so is a brand using Comic Sans.
The software they're known for is Windows and their logo is pretty much the Windows logo without the angles or curves.
The microsoft logo represents more than just windows
Impossible M is my favorite because it's the most aesthetic
[T]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_A_eye_1-1400x990.jpg[/T]
This one looks cool but it's too construction/paint company-ish.
[T]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_B_connector_1-1400x990.jpg[/T]
This one looks really pleasant and isn't tacky at all.
[T]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_E_wireframe_1-1400x990.jpg[/T] [T]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_F_impossible_1-1400x990.jpg[/T]
These two are pretty cool too. Though admittedly the font of the first one of the two reminds me of Yellow Cab. I don't know how you guys could go "all these designs are shit" and proceed to cite the most cringy, tacky and pretentious logo Mozi://a hurr durr
fixed the baskin robbins look with a better colour scheme [t]http://i.imgur.com/oOmQq6Q.png[/t]
So much better. Seriously, the other logo colour scheme looks like it belongs on an early 90's tracksuit.
[T]http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jb_Mozilla_F_impossible_1-1400x990.jpg[/T]
I kind of like this one, it kind of reminds me of old 80s and 90s PC company logos.
Haha, wow, these are all garbage I like the abstract one though for its shapes and colors but to represent Mozilla it's way off key, not a single one of these evokes what the company is even most known for EDIT: Okay they're not total garbage but they seem completely out of left field for the company I could roll with the // or the overwatch looking one I guess??
those are all hideous
