• Xbone footage of Watch Dogs is from PS4

Sorry if I'm wrong, but maybe since its being developed mainly for the ps4 they haven't put in the different button images yet and this is just an early build?
i mean seriously, how is this even news? it appears for a literal split second, i had to watch the same few seconds of video for a minute or two before i was able to pause on the button prompts. ubisoft made a trailer and censored the buttons because who the fuck would spend time recording, editing, and uploading the exact same video? so they took the smart approach by recording one platform's gameplay, and removing the prompts so the footage is console-neutral. oh wait, it's coming out on PC and the wii u, too! why aren't PC gamers and wii u gamers bitching about how "i-it's showing the wrong button prompts :c!!"
I feel obligated to point out it is fairly lazy and just a tad bit funny that xbox's own videos use PS4 footage
Ha took it off
Because the point is to see how it'd look like on the xbox.
The video is just gameplay footage, nowhere did MS state "this is how it'll look on Xbox guys", even though it pretty much IS how it'll look.
Because the point is to see how it'd look like on the xbox.
This is especially important considering the blatant dickwaving about performance both companies have been engaging in since, well, both consoles were in development. (before that, actually, but nevermind the previous console dickwaving) Plus, claiming "Ubisoft did it! Microsoft is entirely not at fault here because Ubisoft made the video!" is not a valid excuse. If I were to buy cheap metal from <place> and use that metal in various things I sell, I can't just blame them when I respond to the inevitable customer complaints. Especially since I would immediately notice the inferior quality (especially if I was forging a knife or something) and ultimately, I made the product and I sold the product. Not exactly the same thing, but it was up to Microsoft to notice the glaring censored buttons and make damn sure they're that way every frame of the video. Good business is heavily reliant on quality control in everything you do. This is Ubisoft's video, not Microsoft's. As much as I'd love for Xbox to keep digging its grave, the only thing sad about this video is they censored the buttons at all to try and hide the fact that it's PS4 footage, as if it even matters It's kind of funny, but why record the same footage from a pretty large amount of gameplay 3 times for 3 platforms (or more) just so the UI matches
Removed video?

Sure, yeah, the game will probably be 99% the same on both platforms but this is clearly an embarrassment (and a hilarious one) for Microsoft that could have been easily avoided.

If you guys say that this is only gameplay footage provided for the companies, so why the fuck both Microsoft and Sony had to upload it onto their channels? Ubi has its own channel for this thing.
And they thought they could fool us it was the Xbone by making the video only 720p.
I don't understand this being used to mock xbox one Yeah it only displays 720p big fucking deal
I don't understand this being used to mock xbox one Yeah it only displays 720p big fucking deal
Actually it's a huge deal. 1080p is industry standard now, offering significantly better image quality while also being the native resolution of most displays.
Actually it's a huge deal. 1080p is industry standard now, offering significantly better image quality while also being the native resolution of most displays.
I don't know I always thought the biggest deal for a games system is games. I mean I'm sorry for not caring about how big it displays on my tv and actually caring about what it offers.
can we have one thread about the xbox one that isn't a bunch of idiots completely exaggerating everything, please?
Here's the most sensible statement I can make about the xbox right now. The console is underwhelming and boring, its focus on gimmicks such as voice commands and kinect will only damage the console's reputation and it has undergone a lot of silly mistakes on the way to its release. The exclusives are nothing to be excited about apart from two games, namely forza and dead rising, and the whole console is already heavily suffering from all of the marketing quirks. At this point the only consumer base Microsoft is absolutely sure to have on any sort of reliability are big microsoft fans and people who are dead-loyal to the xbox. Many owners of a xbox 360 were attracted to the console because of its cheap price and offers compared to the PS3's shoddy release and expensive pricetag, and didn't ever own an original xbox, instead never owning a console or a PS2. The PS4 isn't really anything special by all means, it's just that the marketing team for Sony realized how much shit the internet was tossing at the xbox (justified or not) and soon had the idea to just go with "hey, we're not doing what the xbox does" as a marketing speech and it worked. Right now, I'm positive on the fact the PS4 will dominate the market on its original release, if only for the fact it costs 100 less bucks than the One.

I wouldn't buy a console because it's developer bribed more game developers for loyalty. Yeah, exclusive buying is a low thing all of the devs do, but fuck if I let that decide my selection of product, because that validates it as something I am okay with. [editline]8th November 2013[/editline] And call me a snob but 720p is pretty disasterous for even TODAY standards, god forbid if they don't get better over time, which many people say they will, but I quite doubt that since the consoles are practically a PC and there isn't anywhere as much room for learning new tricks as there was on the PowerPC architectures and such.

In the long run it does not matter to anyone but someone who actually sets up home theatres for video games, which is an extremely small niche when you compare the audience Xbox One is targeting. If it were some sort of home media box then it would matter. It's not. It's a games system first and foremost.

I think that the "home theatre" niche is now more of in the 4K area, not 1080p, you might be a bit behind the times.
Anyone have a link to the video since it got removed? :v:
