Having spoken with a few myself (I admit, it was online), they were quite rude.
lol you spoke to a few people and they represent the other 1-2 million people in the military? [editline]12:08AM[/editline]
I've spoken to a lot of Americans online. The majority were atheist, are most Americans atheist?
not even close 92% of Americans believe in God according to this source: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/story/2008/06/23/ST2008062300818.html
That's the point, you're basing your opinions off of an already biased sample.
That's the point, you're basing your opinions off of an already biased sample.
uh, what? they interviewed 36,000 people
uh, what? they interviewed 36,000 people
Not that, I meant arch and the golden and the such.
Back on topic then? Repealing DADT now so that no-one can be kicked out of the military for being openly gay is a good step, it also forces the military to keep to their december deadline or figuring out what to do next. 6 months with no definite policy on gays isn't going to do anything and it gets momentum for being more tolerant. As far as I can remember, women are allowed to serve in the military but can't be involved in front line fighting or on submarines. Plenty of police action and patrols they can do though.
Yeah he's saying that arch is generalizing
This is probably going to be a big deal with lots of controversy and shit when it first passes. People will freak out, some pro-gay will take something over the top, some anti-gays will get all pissed, blah blah blah. There will be tons of drama but after a few months (or maybe more, who knows) life will get back to normal and things will continue on like nothing ever happened.
Huh. As for the 18-year-old infantryman, the second they use the "I have x deployments under my belt for my country" line you know they're worth less than the scum that bottom-feeders suck.
did an american push you down at disney world or something? You act like you have a general beef with americans for no real reason. Every army kills people, I don't know when or why the world bloody forgot that.

Yeah but I'm tired of this "america kills sandniggers!@!@" shit, every military kills people, thats what they're bloody for. Why are the Americans any different?
Because America is one of the most asshole countries next to NKorea. It's not hard to see if any American would actually take a step back and look at what their world image is and how it got there. Ignorance is bliss.
No no no. You tell me buddy. You're the America expert here.
America is not an asshole country. America has a lot of assholes in it, no doubt, but thats not to say America is an asshole country. I'm fucking canadian and I'm saying this.
US has done a lot of fucked up things though in the last 60 years..
Most of the human population are assholes. America has the third largest population so by basic math we can calculate a higher percentage of assholes per capita. Same with China and India. But I want to hear from the Canadian American experts here because they obviously know something we don't.
Canada is a better country overall
Canada is a better country overall
America has some better things, better prices on food, on clothes, on random shit.
America has some better things, better prices on food, on clothes, on random shit.
on stupid shit that I don't care about yeah. I like Canada's political policies better.
Oh where are The golden and archangel? I thought they were the America experts? Why haven't they answered me?
"Better" is such a subjective term. It's alright to say certain qualities are better eg. Health care, standard of living, military power, global political influence but to judge an overall better is to arbitrarily place values on certain aspects. America has a reputation for the people being assholes due to bad publicity and politically, they throw their weight around a lot. They still do a lot of good stuff and are one of the most influential countries in the world.
Oh where are The golden and archangel? I thought they were the America experts? Damn, thats so wrong.
I see neither side in this issue. On one hand, Don't Ask Don't Tell seems cruel because it calls for immediate discharge. On the other hand, it seems perfectly fine because...well, so long as you "Don't Tell," you're fine. Not like sexual orientation is relevant in the military. So much for "expressing yourself," when nobody gives a shit and expects orders to be carried out.
Damn, thats so wrong.
what? how is repealing government sponsored discrimination wrong
I don't think so. For me everything is same =3
they have some valid points broheim but their anecdotal stories and shit are dumb [editline]12:56AM[/editline] I like Canada better there
I'm not saying that America hasn't done bad things, I'm saying so has just about every other country. Why is every other country somehow exempt from ridicule? I find their stories hard to believe because they say such out there things and random crap that its hard to follow.

Ya I think America should just stop feeding the world, it's not doing any good anyway. I also think they should stop policing the worlds oceans, giving humanitarian aid in droves and defending allies at a moments notice. If you want a bad guy from the last 60 years pick a super power that killed 30 million of its own citizens, I think they called it the USSR.

I answered your question salami face, "yeah, so has every country, but what advanced nation in the last 60 years done as much shit as the US has?" USSR, China, North Korea, Cambodia, Yugoslavia - Serbia, the list goes on.
