It's not his mums fault completely. Any normal 10 year old wouldn't shoot their mum with a rifle over such a small argument like that. Kid's just batshit insane.
Oh dear God not news like these, not events like these. Makes me sad and depressed as fuck.
Seriously, shooting your own mother is the worst thing that I could think of to happen in life, hell I wonder how long it takes for that poor bastard to take his own life. Because I sure as hell would do that. I could never forgive myself for an thing that traumatizing
ITT: Mother gives gun to child like an idiot, child kills her, 'DEATHN SENTEBNAceE11'
It's true. And you know it, the fault stemmed from the MOTHER, not the child.
Only one person said that.

And he was saying that there ought to be an insta death sentence for anyone who pleads guilty to a clearly guilty charge.

automerge disaster
I gotta hurry up with my time machine and start preventing sad events like these happening around the globe
I find it a relieving thought that people like you aren't making our laws then.
But yeah, who gives a gun to a kid, doesn't supervise them, gives them ammo, lets them keep the gun in their possession and... oh my god people like this are the reason 2nd amendment rights are having a tough time in our country right now.
are you telling me you support clogging up the legal system through pleading not guilty to crimes you committed? even in cases where its eye bleeding obvious you did it and you're still gonna be pronounced guilty

Innocent till proven guilty bro.
An accident? He loaded the gun then shot her. I could understand an accidental discharge of a gun he didn't know was loaded, but that's certainly not the case here.
"pleaded not guilty"
Is it bad that I wish there was an instant death penalty for pleading not guilty when it's already confirmed beyond any possible doubt you did the crime? wasting court time and money, fucking filth
Though that would be an absolutely horrendous, immoral and otherwise stupid addition to the legal system, I can understand where the anger comes from.

He's 10 years old, and with out trying to start an argument, the death penalty is incredibly dumb.
I cracked up when I read "Christmas gun". The thought that initially entered my mind was a gun that showered all with good fortune and Christmas spirit.
This is a case where it's clear that rehabilitation is a lot better than punishment.
"Hey Jimmy, did you hear Billy shot his mom in the head because she told him to do chores?"
"Woah I gotta play soldiers with him some time!"
Guns are not bad things, I can't stress that enough. The mother should have kept the rifle locked away though, as any sensible parent would have done. I don't have access to my firearm other than the times I'm cleaning it or taking it to the range.
Who gives their 10-year-old son a rifle?
I mean, seriously.
Christmas Story~
So sad, imagine what that kid is feeling
today is a sad day :smith:
This seems like a normal 10-year old.
Haven't we all gotten really angry at our mothers atleast a few times when we were little?
Sure we may not have attempted to kill our mothers but I doubt that was what this boy wanted to do either.
He didn't know his mother would die, he didn't know what he is doing.
Such a depressing story.

Glad to see I'm not the only one.
Lesson learned: Don't buy your 10 year old kid a gun, buy him a dog so he'll learn to value life.
Isn't it just great how easily available guns are in America?
Isn't it just great how easily available guns are in America?
It really is!
Mommy, mewwy chwistmas, modda fucka.
You can't really blame the gun. same thing could have happened with a knife or any other object that you could use to hit someone in the head with. What i want to know is how the kid managed to get behind his mom with the gun loaded.
And he must've had an intent to kill her, I've fired a .22 myself, those things are pea-shooters with pretty small stopping power.
Make no mistake, .22 isn't harmless. Just because the "bang" isn't as loud, it doesn't meam it is less deadly.
Things like this are reasons why getting guns gets harder and harder. I'll never get a damn rifle.
Where do you live?
In the US you can get a rifle at either 18 or 21, depending on your state, after a background check and x days of a waiting period, and I doubt it'll get any harder from there

We're not blaming the gun, we're blaming the dumbass redneck who gave it to their 10 year old son thinking that a gun was a suitable gift for a 10 year old

I envy you guys. So much.

I think the point they're trying to make is that the boy didn't know the power of the gun, he probably thought it was as powerfull as a BB.

Yes, it's very bad.
You want to execute a 10-year-old without finding out the full circumstances of the crime. That's horrible.
Should of bought him a paint ball gun instead.
