would you be comfortable with a 4-year-old operating a gas-engined vehicle?
That's completely unrelated. Shooting a gun doesn't require the cognitive abilities as driving a vehicle. In fact I would say taking a child shooting while supervising them accordingly is way way safer than taking a child driving while supervising them accordingly.
they're both deadly in the wrong hands i wouldn't trust a 4-year-old with the knowledge of how to fire a gun
Why? If you keep the gun out of reach it's pretty harmless knowledge. I feel safer with a lot of children knowing how to shoot, clean, and maintain a firearm than a lot of grown men.
Gun laws.
Gun laws.
Child abuse. See? I can say random things too!
That kid's going to grow up feeling like shit, he didn't know better and now he has to deal with it. :frown:
I think the punishment of knowing for your entire life that you were responsible for your mother's death is worse than a life sentence.
Yeah, no one deserves that. I feel really bad for the kid, his family and his mother.
they're both deadly in the wrong hands i wouldn't trust a 4-year-old with the knowledge of how to fire a gun
this is basically what's wrong with america's gun culture as doggunn mentioned earlier. there's absolutely no reason someone that young should be operating a firearm. I like guns and have one, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. the earliest I'd let someone operate a firearm is probably in the teen years, and it would depend on how mature and trustworthy they are.
at least he got a headshot
I think the punishment of knowing for your entire life that you were responsible for your mother's death is worse than a life sentence.
No, I bet he'll blame it on her "she should have never bought me that gun" or his dad "he should have taught me to be responsible" or "if my dad was around this never would have happened"(depending on where his dad is). His brother already forgives him and all the facts haven't even come out yet. What makes you think the kid himself is going to feel at fault?

Sure the kid may try to blame it on his mother or father but he'll probably always blame himself.

If he blames it on other people he can never come to terms with it and it will haunt him his entire life.
But guys, guns don't kill, men do. Right? :downs:
But guys, guns don't kill, men do. Right? :downs:
Pretty much, especially if the men are not trained properly in gun safety. Unless the gun is cursed with the spirits of the damned or something I don't know.
I don't give a shit about his age or whatever the circumstances were. He had an argument with his mother about CHORES, OF ALL THINGS, then out of his rage shot at his mother. He shot his mom in the head, no doubt about it. It's not like he planned it out, it was just out of rage because of the argument beforehand. The mother is also the dumbest person I've read about, giving their 10 year old son who is prone to violent outbreaks a .22, BEST CHRISTMAS EVER. I think it's the dumbest possible thing to make him go into some sort of mental facility. Charge him with fucking manslaughter, then put him in solitary confinement. After reading this thread I hugged my mother and thanked her for never buying me a gun, 'cause I've done some stupid shit when I was angry.
pleaded not guilty
:frog: oh, and that is terribly sad. Little bastard better get the time. Atleast 3 years.
Henry Repeating Arms Co. http://www.henryrepeating.com/rifle-minibolt.cfm Although, they are a great piece of american and arms history. But marketing guns to children is a bit off.
The rifles you posted are built specifically to be handled comfortably by a small bodied person, such as a child. I don't understand how giving a kid a large caliber rifle that they would have trouble using makes sense.
The gun laws in USA and some parts of western Canada are truly ridiculous
The gun laws in USA and some parts of western Canada are truly ridiculous
I know, the fucking assault rifle ban is ridiculous.
