They get there and find some giant double yellow lines with a martian traffic warden saying 'you can't park here'. :v:
Martion???
Martion???
OP also mentions mars.
That would be too expensive to get them out there It'd be easier to just smoke out a UN conference or something
How would that help though, my views aren't changed when im high and I feel like im even better at arguing :v:
It's already in production. And it's bigger than the Saturn V.
Holy shit that launch abort system is amazing.
Great news! I really hope we'll see a trend with space travel gaining more interest in the media and general population again soon :/
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Go to Mars instead.
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Go to Mars instead.
Why not do both because it's fucking awesome you negative nancy.
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Go to Mars instead.
Yeah, we haven't been out of low earth orbit for 40 years, lets go to Mars!
Can't wait for China to be able to start a new space race. Damn traitorous Russians collaborating with the Americans.
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Go to Mars instead.
Do you even know who you have as your avatar?
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Go to Mars instead.
Doesn't the moon mainly consist of raw materials anyway? There's some worth in that Shit, capturing an asteroid would amount to trillions worth of rare metals and etc. so why would going to the moon not be lucrative? (I know nothing of lunar metals and composition and am waiting for someone to smack me upside the head)
Can't wait for China to be able to start a new space race. The hope of mankind is ESA, Roscosmos, NASA and all the other space agencies that are not dependent on a military dimension.
Also the moon is a perfect jump point for future missions Going from earth - mars is a hell of a lot harder then earth - moon -stop for gas - mars
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Why? We would need to ferry everything from Earth to moon because moon does not have the resources to build this stuff on its own.
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Go to Mars instead.
I thought you had a great interest in science, the whole concept of science often involves expensive "worthless" projects, where you simply don't know what you'll find to begin with. Even then, calling the moon a sterile invaluable rock is in itself excluding a whole host of possible uses for it, like building and launching rockets from a moon base to reduce the Δv requirements to go further, extracting He-3, and even more. And that's not even counting everything we'll learn from the mission that can be used not only for other future space missions, but also here on Earth. That doesn't mean we shouldn't go to Mars as well, but it's ridiculous to just say the moon is useless without even trying.
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels.
If I remember correctly, isn't the moon supposed to have huge amounts of thorium? Also that launch abort is amazing if they pull it off, it'll save so many lives too.
Earth has loads of Thorium too.

We may have been to the moon, but everybody who had anything to do with Apollo is dead or retired. Nobody has a vehicle capable of getting even as far as the Moon, so we're just going to make one and fly off to Mars? It's much safer to test things out by going to the Moon than Mars. What if there was an Apollo 13 situation on the way to Mars? There's a reason that the 11th Apollo mission was the first to land. Yes we learnt a lot from Apollo, but a lot is going to need to be re-learnt. The concept of going to Mars makes a Moon mission look like a school field-trip. Could they not do a manned mission to the sun... With Mitt Romney?
China will not get anything done because they're China. The hope of mankind is ESA, Roscosmos, NASA and all the other space agencies that are not dependent on a military dimension.
laser please, if anything successful coming from China I'd say their space program is one of them. It's quite solid, and the plans are realistic. They're not planning on manned moon travels before like 2030.
The moon is a nice place. Lets make a therapy colony for stressed people up there. The silence would help. :)
OP also mentions mars.
I initially thought he was on about the moon haha
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Go to Mars instead.
Consider how much energy it takes to escape Earth's gravitational field; assembling a rocket in space and then point it towards Mars would probably be more feasible than just firing one from the Earth. I suppose you could get quite a bit of speed out of the saved energy.
Attach rockets to the ISS, send it to Mars :v:
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Go to Mars instead.
The moon has a high abundance of Helium-3 (Non radioactive Fusion fuel) And Titanuim
Another fucking worthless mission to an empty rock so sterile that shit is more valuable than gold and has absolutely no value, unless they're going to carpet it in solar panels. Go to Mars instead.
There is still a lot about the moon we don't know. Your avatar is very confusing considering the stupidity of this statement.
If they invested in SpaceX we'd be there by 2017.
Why, Nasa is developing the SLS with the orion capsule right now, which will be capable of going to the moon and beyond.
Here's hoping for moonbases that grow to become self-sustaining, as well as offworld mining colonies.
If they invested in SpaceX we'd be there by 2017.
Why? SpaceX is a business. They only do what is profitable for them and sustainable. Basically ISS resupply.
Why? SpaceX is a business. They only do what is profitable for them and sustainable. Basically ISS resupply.
As somebody who has watched loads of Neil deGrasse Tyson videos (and mindlessly repeats everything he says), I sadly agree. How do you ask investors to fund an incredibly dangerous project with an unquantifiable reward? SpaceX could go to the Moon, but they have to have the risks/rewards mapped out first. People need to watch more NDT videos. I know I'm basically repeating what he says, but it makes sense.
