A legit reason for America being fat (besides fast food and laziness)?

Damn A's keep complaining about something I would kill for. :saddowns:
You really don't realize how bad it is to be underweight. Usually you haven't the strength to do much of anything, or anything for long. You run out of energy quite fast.
And....as embarrassing as it is to say, you also occasionally have trouble with strong gusts of wind...
i used to be underweight and i looked very girly
well i still do
but my point is physical strength is certainly not compatible with being underweight

Being fat also gives you these inconvenient... except for the wind. Being really skinny I experimented this, it's quite funny anyway, not like I'm ever going to take off the land because of wind.
Underweight people run out of energy fast because they don't have much reserves while Overweight people run out of energy fast because their skeleton has to permanently lift a considerable weight.

I could say the same thing about being overweight. Most of my strength is in my legs because they have to be able to support my body. I too have limited energy, and it drains quickly as well. Equally embarrassing is the fact that rickety things like step-ladders scare me stiff because I'm afraid of breaking them. I hate taking my shirt off in public and rarely ever go shirtless.
If I could choose, I'd take underweight in a microsecond.
I'm 6 foot, 2 inches, and 202 pounds, which makes me slightly overweight.
6'1 @ 160lbs. I'm normal I guess. Still sort of light.
I'm extremely underweight, I'm 5'11" while at the same time I weigh 123 lbs.

My legs are super strong, I ride my bike everywhere because I can't drive yet. I've ridden 150 miles this summer.
It's just the rest of my body is fat. :\
I hardly eat, but I'm fat. Also Hypo-Thyroidism.
I eat maybe twice a day. Not even that much. I eat like, a few chips during the day, then eat dinner. And generally I eat a somewhat healthy dinner. I also exercise on occasion. However, I never lose weight, it just sort of maintains one weight. It makes me sad.
I'm almost 6' and 107, most of it is muscle.
The word "obesogens" made me chuckle.
I'm going to hell.
i must be the only one with normal healthy body weight
I'm 6' and around 68kg (150lbs) the last time I checked, which was a while ago, so give or take 4kg. But I look skronny as fuck.
This thread is now about what the posters' weight is apparently.
Regardless, I don't honestly think there is an excuse for being fat. Its almost always dependent on if the person actually cares enough or not. Not really our business to judge them. But if they try to say being fat is an excuse to get special treatment, they can fuck off.
is everyone fucking underweight on this forum
5'6 160 pounds so no
I eat like I'm fat but I have a healthy weight. Fast Metabolism FTW :v:
I have the worst system ever, I go out jogging alot I'm active and rarely indoors, I usually don't eat to much at all (sometimes even a single meal a day) yet I've overweight. I run around and hang out and whatnot so it angers me that I can't seem to lose anything
eat a goddamn apple

It doesn't work that way. I could live a month with a 3 small portions of pasta daily and not lose any weight.
I have tried eating barely anything for weeks, but I just get permanently hungry, tired and depressed, but don't lose any weight at all.

I am over 190cm and under 110kg, which is on border between overweight and obese. Over the year, I rarely eat candy, and when so, it's usually just a small share from chocolate table shared in family. I eat breakfast at school, usually something in lines of simple sandwich and some cereal cookies. I eat lunch at school canteen, where the portions surely aren't too big for the measly price, and fried food is served only like once per month. I usually dine things like buttered black bread or so, sometimes fruits, often nothing at all. Now I have kept my weight for like 3 years now. The funny thing is that my BMI slightly improved as I kept the weight over last years and still grew like 10-15 centimeters.
I don't really care anymore. My physical condition doesn't really limit me in things I like to do, as the bottleneck is usually asthma, and with my psyche I have already a poor chance of getting a girl, so it doesn't really matter.
Best way to lose fat - get your ass out and run. Run like fuck. Even walk if you cannot run, but just stay outside, under the sun, and move. You must also stop eating shit all the time if you are not ready to have proper exercise to correct it.

if you barely eat anything then your body goes into starvation mode and breaks down muscle instead of fat
You need to eat lighter, but not starve yourself.

Unsolicited advice time. Givin' it whether you want it or not.
If you've really been having trouble, you could just have a poor metabolism, which can be mitigated. Try eating 4-5 small (think 200-300 calorie) meals spread out across the day. This keeps your metabolism up. Going long periods of time without food causes your metabolism to crash down (this is why starving yourself doesn't work). You also need to properly time your meals, eating more calories (and as few calories from fat as possible) in the morning or a few hours before physical activity, and tapering down. Think big breakfast, tiny dinner.
I was like you for a while, I couldn't lose weight, but that was because I was dieting in a shitty, inconsistent way. I was doing the same basic thing you did, trying to survive eating tiny amounts of saltines and corn chips. Once I took the time to learn about how to properly diet it became much easier. Trust me, I've lost 50 pounds over the past year and a half with only minor exercise. I've shot past my goal weight. You can't just eat less and call it a diet, it's more complicated than that.

oh also just totally replace everything you drink with water. That's like a "lose 5 pounds free" coupon
I'm 6 5' and I used to weigh 305 pounds. Now i'm down to 250. Just stop stuffing your fat face with junk and the pounds will fall off.

The problem is that most fatties assume that they just have a slow metabolism when they actually just don't know what they're doing when they're trying to lose weight.
Start doing yoga. It's helpful.

Even though you probably aren't craving for my gratitude, thank you. Most of what you said is already in the mash of all the knowledge I know about the topic. I will try, as knowing that you went through it personally gives your words much more weight.
