I feel sorry for pedophiles and sociopaths. They can't help the way they are. I would like to believe there are quite a few closet pedophiles that are so disgusted with themselves that they never hurt another living creature. I still think they need to be locked up, since they are a threat to other people, but I think they should also be helped as much as possible.

I agree they should get help, though not being a psychologist myself I don't know what you can do to alter a persons sexuality and locking them in prison solves nothing except keeping them from harming anyone. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the ones who abuse children though, I mean I know they have this attraction to children that they can't help but you'd think they could stop themselves from actually acting on it.

I don't see why videos of serial killers killing people and such aren't illegal too, can someone explain? Is it because we think rape is worse than murder? And the way those cops reacted to him was completely stupid and unnecessary, unless of course they have evidence to believe he had a weapon.

Rape is worse than murder. The person murdered is dead, can't feel anything. Now if a person is raped they feel it and remember it, and are probably scared for their life and could go crazy. They can remember every detail like it just happened and are scared that around every corner could be someone who could rape them. Would you like that feeling? No I don't think you would. Thus why rape is worse than murder.

There isn't anything you can do really. There is counseling and shit you can do to help a person not hurt people again, but that's about it.

You appear to be forgetting the people close to the person murdered, having a family member murdered is a lot worse then being raped IMO.
