Do you really expect two sites to have completely different sets of news stories? I wouldn't say they're mostly copied from Reddit, just that two forums naturally would have a lot of overlap in major news stories. Some of it probably is from there, but it's not like it's their original content.

To be honest I've never heard anything good about it.
The only things bad that I've heard of is r/atheism, r/politics, r/creepshots, r/jailbait.
And a lot of "upvoted" posts that contain very bigoted opinions.
