So let me get this straight. Less or equal women being fired than men means women are getting it worse?
What?

And the amount of women in service is around 20%, so it's about 5 times worse for the women. - If you'd read the text
No it isn't. As many or less women are being fired than men. The amount of women in service doesn't factor into it. If they were being biased, firing more openly gay women than men, then this article would have a point. But as this article puts it, they are firing equal or less women than men.

So there is this "random security check" in an airplane with 10 black people, 8 muslims, and 120 white people.
9 blacks, 7 muslims, and 8 white people get a rubber fist down their ass.
Was the "random check" that random after all?
How does this "hit them hard"? You don't get fired out being gay, you get fired for saying you are. For fuck's sake, do they really have to broadcast details like that to everyone else?

True, but like Splurgy said, it might be hard to tell lies about some "girl" home for a year or two.

It's pathetic that they feel obligated to go against army rules, broadcast to their comrades that they're gay, and then get upset that they get in trouble.
Your personal beliefs don't spare you from insuboordination.
I do admit though, I'm sure myself and other male soldiers wouldn't care if a few lesbians lived in the barracks next to ours. :>
They are still perfectly capable of dispensing bullets and explosives in the general direction of the enemy. Does it really fucking matter which asses they wish to tap. :geno:

and the barrack next to yours probably wouldn't care if few gays would live in yours

Do you really think they go around saying their gay?
Really?
You know sometimes you actually mak sense and make logical reasonable statements.
This wasn't one of them.
And you think the lesbians would let you watch or something?
Let YOU watch, you're a complete and utter fucking retard, why the fuck would you get to watch?

That's different. They're being selected, but here they're being fired because they came forward. It's not like they're randomly picking people to be fired and biasing the pick towards women.

you're an idiot. think about what you just said. nobody should say anything because it might offend someone else? yeah that's a great idea
I think it's pretty screwed up that they have to hide it constantly. It's not like everything they say is "I'm gay" and I highly doubt that they are in-your-face about it. If someone says they're gay, just say "ok" and get over it. No need to kick them out of the military for it.
I'm not gay myself but i don't see a problem with gay people being in the Army.

It"s considerably more pathetic that the rule exists in the first place. Why should they have to keep schtum?

The "Don't Tell" bit is stupid and wrong but I'd sort of see your point if it wasn't for the US army thoroughly disregarding the "Don't Ask" bit
Who the hell actually dislikes lesbians.
I do like the idea of don't ask don't tell. Some people would be uncomfortable knowing someone in their squad was gay, so it's better to just not know.
I do like the idea of don't ask don't tell. Some people would be uncomfortable knowing someone in their squad was gay, so it's better to just not know.
I think someones ability to be honest about themselves is better than making the rare soldier more comfortable. Don't ask, don't tell falls apart when someone does tell and you have to kick someone out just because they're gay.

don't say anything because it may offend someone
So basically people spent valuable times of their lives learning, then going into the military to serve their country, and they get kicked out because of a small difference from others? We need to get our shit straight.
Why does anyone care who someone's sexuality is in the military. Better them, who signed up to do it, instead of some pacifist, forced in to do it because they're running short on men and have to do a draft. I know homosexuals don't run 90% of the military and if we kicked them all out we'd be in trouble but you know what I mean.

Conservatives maybe?
Who the hell actually dislikes lesbians.
Old shriveled preachers that haven't had an erection in 30 years.
Navy: The sea service was disbanded, with 100 percent of personnel ousted for being gay. Women comprise 14 percent of naval personnel.
Fix't that for you

Stop watching porn. Real lesbians aren't like that.

What about the people who are uncomfortable about having to keep themselves secret? Who gets priority in this situation?
What about the people who are uncomfortable about having to keep themselves secret? Who gets priority in this situation?
many > few
many > few
But the only way to discover which group is in the majority would be to do an independent survey based around how many gay people there are in the military + the number of people who'd be ok with openly gay people in the military vs how many people would be uncomfortable around gay people, which can't be done because the moment a gay person said they were gay they would be made to leave the military!

they'd already be there, you just don't know who's gay this way
Stop watching porn. Real lesbians aren't like that.
While porn lesbians are great, that actually wasn't what I was talking about.
In reality lesbians are really just not annoying. Even the mega butch lesbians aren't really offensive to just about anyone.
Traditionally people have problems with two males in a relationship. For whatever reason neither sex seems to have a problem with two women going at it, but two guys seems to make both sexes frequently squirm and leads to weird hostility towards homosexual males that rarely seems to be present with females.
I guess the military has a problem with women and a problem with homosexuality, so that might explain the increase in numbers. But jeeze. What the hell.
