• Quran burning Pastor, Terry Jones, running for President

This is more of a joke then when I heard Donald Trumb would consider running.
Isn't it a bit late for him to try and run, seeing as the Republican candidate's wrangling for the nomination is already in full swing?
If I recall correctly, this guy inadvertently through his actions got a number of U.N. workers killed in Afghanistan. Don't think he's getting nominated for much of anything.
To be honest I think the "average American" is freaking annoying as well (and by "average American" I mean the guy who actually fits the American stereotype, aka the fat conservative drama queen with a lot of racism included and only shit coming out of its mouth).
Don't say the "average American" is freaking annoying because that stereotype is hardly the average American. If you don't feel it's that way, if you even manage to get to the United States I'll give you a tour myself and let you meet as many "average Americans" myself. Believe it or not, there are more intelligent and cultured people here than the media would like to let on.
except that they don't
From that
Since 2005, the BBC has conducted a poll on world attitudes toward various countries. In 2011, 49 percent of people surveyed said America had a positive influence on the world, while 31 percent held negative views. That's better than most presidential approval ratings from the past 20 years, and we elected those guys.
Having a presidential candidate that burns Quran as a "day" will definitely piss off more people in the world. Especially the extremists.

Until now, they're as real as Loch Ness to Europeans. Only real one of these we know of happens to be the Prez. But he's getting bodyslammed at every turn by inbreds in high positions. Let me put it this way. How can you fault anyone for thinking you're all a collective nation of inbred self-contradicting, christian, conservative war-lovers when those people are the only ones that ever get their word beyond your borders? It's no different from when you people generalize Islam, Africa or Asia on the basis of terrorists and pirates. Hell. What do you generally refer to Europe as? Was that Socialists? I think it was.
I highly doubt religion caused more destruction than World War I, World War II (including the Holocaust), the Punic Wars, the US Civil War, the Roman Civil Wars (from 91 BC to 30 BC), the French Revolutionary/Napoleonic Wars, and the Hundred Years' War.
Hitler himself said ''I was finishing god's work'' Civil war happened mainly because of different opinion on slavery.Slavery endorsed in bible. In France when you mention an "average" something it means the stereotype, the worst you can get from a culture or a country, basically.
People just hate America because it's cool to hate America, They don't actually have a personal reason.
People just hate America because it's cool to hate America, They don't actually have a personal reason.
Declaring war on Irak for bullshit reasons wasn't really a much appreciated move.

They make it sound like were all the same but we have way too much culture to have that be even remotely true.
I see those pictures constantly when people mention Christians doing horrible shit, what the hell was the crazies behind it called?
Not sure who was behind the specific cases shown there, but a good example of one of the crazy Christian groups in Africa is the Lord's Resistance Army.
Declaring war on Irak for bullshit reasons wasn't really a much appreciated move.
Did I support that? No. Am I a republican? No. Do I still really enjoy living here? Yes. Plus you are an example of my statement.
Did I support that? No. Am I a republican? No. Do I still really enjoy living here? Yes.
Well congratulations, you are not part of the US people hate, aka politicians and annoying conservative douchebags. Stop taking shit so seriously if it barely concerns you.
Is he really expecting to win?: Unfortunately some crazy people actually agree with him, so he might get some votes.
Well congratulations, you are not part of the US people hate, aka politics and annoying conservative douchebags. Stop being susceptible to whatever media is telling you this.
I have yet to find the "part of the US that people hate." Maybe I'll go outside and take a look around. Stop being susceptible to whatever media is telling you this.
Ah the good old "I'm not seeing this around me so it doesn't exist" argument. No wonder you're not seeing any conservative republican shitting on progress and believing US is the best thing ever and shit, you're defining yourself as an open minded (probably democrat) guy who was against war in Irak. From that point it's rather easy to guess you're not the one to be the most likely to encounter these types of people. There are racists in France, I know they are here, and yet I don't see theme everywhere because I'm not looking for them and not sharing their opinion - if I did, I would very probably know much more racists. In college, two guys of my class plus my translation teacher have a lot of family in the US (not like two members, an actual big part of their family), and pretty much all of them are huge conservatives that viscerally hate their French relatives because fuck they're French, believe the middle-east is a giant threat to the United States and despite their obvious hatred towards every single people ever living outside of the US, believe the world love them. You might not like it but it exists.

Please don't tell me you are. And no, slavery was NOT mostly because of slavery. Do a little research, you'd be surprised. It was one of the major factors in the war. Well let's say you're right, this monolithic entity called "religion" is responsible for most of that kind of violence. How on Earth does that justify pointing at the faithful and saying "your religion is violent, therefore you are too"?
The most conflicts, bigotry, death, violence were caused by religion
There's a difference between religion causing and religion being an excuse.

There are a lot more open minded people than the common person thinks.

It would make much more sense. Also, yeah, the biggest conflicts I can remember that were directly caused or justified by religion were the dark ages Crusades. Accusing the mere concept of Religion of causing so much harm is rather dumb, mainly because Religion is such a large and universal concept that you just cannot bring any single kind of religion under a single definition, and also because most religious conflicts and religion-driven tyrants were actually using Religion as an excuse, a justification rather that an actual genuine motive. There are a lot more open minded people than the common person thinks.
Probably but when someone like George Bush gets elected you know there's a problem with a country that is supposedly filled with more open minded people than stereotyped americans. Of course there's a lot of open minded people but as few as the conservatives numerically are, they still have a bigger influence and reputation.
Probably but when someone like George Bush gets elected you know there's a problem with a country that is supposedly filled with more open minded people than stereotyped americans.
True but even the concept of being conservative would be a lot more appealing if it wasn't for their tendency to choose bad leaders. For instance, If I was a farmer in the middle of nebraska and my family owned the land for the past 100 years. There would be absolutely no reason why I wouldn't vote republican. I'm not a bible loving racist. I just don't want things to change and that is what being conservative used to be all about. I myself live in a large city and happen to feel differently so I chose to be a democrat for most issues. I think that is why a significant portion of the country still votes for republicans. A big part of our country is corn fields anyways.
Well congratulations, you are not part of the US people hate, aka politicians and annoying conservative douchebags. Except the mere concept of wanting absolutely nothing to change is stupid. Democracy is also about making things evolve until they are as good as they can be - voting for a party that willingly stops all changes is actually more going backwards than idling.
