You mean "civil war was not mostly because of slavery" right ? It would make much more sense.
Also, yeah, the biggest conflicts I can remember that were directly caused or justified by religion were the dark ages Crusades. Accusing the mere concept of Religion of causing so much harm is rather dumb, mainly because Religion is such a large and universal concept that you just cannot bring any single kind of religion under a single definition, and also because most religious conflicts and religion-driven tyrants were actually using Religion as an excuse, a justification rather that an actual genuine motive.
Thirty Years War too, but the latter half of that conflict was much more political than anything else.
To be honest I think the "average American" is freaking annoying as well (and by "average American" I mean the guy who actually fits the American stereotype, aka the fat conservative drama queen with a lot of racism included and only shit coming out of its mouth).
yeah well the average french guy is also pretty annoying always smoking and smelling like cheese and fucking our wives. hi i'm dumb bigotry how you doin you cheese-eating surrender monkey?

Actually the modern "average" French stereotype is more like an old racist/sexist who hates Arabs and have a strong attachment to what they called "true French Identity" while they can't define it clearly (because French culture is basically a melting pot of every European country around).

Because what the stereotype is totally matters.
Clearly has never been to the United States.. Oh my god it's so obvious when you know people don't know how things work over here. We weren't talking about my personal experience but with peoples general experience and how you all should shut the fuck up about us being offensively generalizing assholes when it's all you ever do yourselves on a general basis. Again. Get some sanity blown out beyond your borders and come back to this topic then. Half your congress is stuck in 1337 A.D. ffs.
Just because Muslim kids took away your lunch money when you were little doesn't mean the entire religion is at fault.
Haha..he stole my lunch.. And I packed HAM. :v:
How about you shut up until you actually have some of those people in any kind of influential positions over there? Until now, they're as real as Loch Ness to Europeans. Only real one of these we know of happens to be the Prez. But he's getting bodyslammed at every turn by inbreds in high positions.
Let me put it this way. How can you fault anyone for thinking you're all a collective nation of inbred self-contradicting, christian, conservative war-lovers when those people are the only ones that ever get their word beyond your borders?
It's no different from when you people generalize Islam, Africa or Asia on the basis of terrorists and pirates. Hell. What do you generally refer to Europe as? Was that Socialists? I think it was.
Man all these humans are such a barbaric lot.

Stop being such a hypocrite
Well I think it's safe to say he hasn't got the Muslim crowd's votes...

I see your point, but the fact is is that the only way to eliminate stereotypes is by finding out the truth. I'm inviting you, if you ever get the chance, to experience that. I would hope you would do the same if I ever went to Denmark to prove whatever stereotype doesn't hold true there. I wasn't being aggressive at all about it because I'm not a person who decides to defend the "pride of his country" because someone made a generalization. My point is, is that you can say that people think about Americans the same way, but I can tell you now, every time I meet someone from another country I'm as pleased as can be to meet them because I get to understand and discover what kind of people come from that country. While they don't represent their people as a whole, every encounter with someone from another country matters, I'm not going to hold something as pathetic and asinine as a stupid stereotype over someone's head, and I never have, I would hope you would do the same.

What needs to be pointed out about that map is, is the majority of all those little red squares have less than 200,000 people living in them if you look at the demographics. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of republicans.
Tell ya what, guys. I'll run for president of your large oil-filled land of "the free" and I promise to make it chilled the fuck out twenty four-twenty seven.
The most conflicts, bigotry, death, violence were caused by religion
wars are always about power and land, if you now use a religion to get people to follow you or you say they have weapons of mass destruction(which they don't) doesn't really matter to me, you really can't blame it on religion because people used it as a tool

you're generalizing US again by saying we all think Islam are terrorists and Europeans are Socialists
it's fucking sickening to see that people like you have the gall to call a whole nation such nasty, nasty names
I've been there. Florida. It was ok. Normal people there as i expected of course. We weren't talking about my personal experience but with peoples general experience
This makes absolutely no sense. You're saying you had a normal experience but you didn't have the general experience? Probably because it doesn't exist.
Honestly, I don't know what all this stereotype bullshit is about. Of course some people will match the given stereotype, but that's just a fraction of the people. I think America is home to some of the world's worst bleach-swilling negro-hating gun-wielding christian neck beards, but fuck if that's going to lower my opinion of the average american, because that stereotype applies to so few.

I'm not calling your whole nation any kind of names. PEOPLE are.
Will you shut the fuck up and stop jumping down my throat about your shitty image as a nation. How about you go fix it then? All we see is prejudice and ignorance. The fact that your country is crashing further supports that view. Just try to think before you post. It's not my personal views here, but your general image as a whole. It's a fucking shitty and bigoted image. Remind me how many wars you're/have tangled the rest of us into these past 10 years. Great. That was a greedy president with corporate interest and the republican party that caused that. Now ask any retiree from the CIA about that and they'll refer you to the major stocks they all hold in Oil corporations. Just fucking read up on Bush for 15 seconds and oil has already entered the picture. He had to keep real friendly with Saudi Arabia and they wanted Al-Qaeda shut the fuck up. Put an ear to the ground and encourage others to do so. Now Fix it god damn it or shut the fuck up about us being tough on you. This isn't bullying in the kindergarden. This is you being called out for letting retards and egoists run us all into the ground. I know it's all cool beans to be a cowboy and shit. But a basic clue about the situation should be a prerequisite to voting.
Don't even get me started on your careless environmental politics or your Swiss cheese of a justice system.
The greater good never was a fucking hit abroad. I just hope Scandinavia will ride it out somewhat OK. I fucking HOPE Obama gets that second term. Imagine if we'd got McCain... But I'm just a commie bastard, aren't it?
what a fucking idiot ha
So what group was it that caused those mutilations to those youths a page or so back? Pretty saddening :smith:
...Hitler was a Christian.
How does that prove anything? At all? Do you have any idea what exactly the Nazis did to the churches?
Ahh, now to watch people without any idea of how economics work bash his decision about corporate taxes. stay classy, facepunch.

Now you sound like an unintelligible bigot. I had a slight amount of respect for you and your opinions, and I think TBFundy had no right to be immature in his anger, but it's gotten to the point where you shouldn't carry on a conversation if people who swear at you make you lose your temper! You have a responsibility to uphold as someone with an entitled opinion to be respectful and clear with your message, WITHOUT swearing someone out, because the minute you do, your message falls on deaf ears. Come on Bomimo, let's show some adult conversation skills and pick yourself off and try that again.
I'll start.
Bomimo, I agree with you on the fact that the Republican and Bush-strangled administration and government the United States had to deal with completely obliterated everything that Clinton had worked so hard on trying to repair. I'll tell you from my perspective, it feels like every time something truly great from our current administration comes down the pipe, something that could be REALLY good for our image over seas, it's squelched by Republicans with insults and criticism, and the media wants to focus on only the bad things about the United States. Americans in general are very blinded when it comes to international concerns, something I believe is because we are so far away from the rest of the world. We see ourselves as this island separate from the world, except for trade, and it feels like few Americans regard it as something they should be concerned about.

edit: Also it's impossible to get McCain, he's not running. However, every inbred hodunk right-winger in the country seems to be going for an election-form and their shotgun.
I'm Right Wing and this guy is a racist, anti-semetic, bigoted asshole.
So no, all your ideas of how every Republican would support him, are wrong.
...Hitler was a Christian.
Oh what ho, what do we have here? Another uninformed breaker of Godwin's law. Just because Hitler was a christian, did not mean that the Holocaust and the invasions of Poland, Czechoslovakia, France and declaring war on Russia, England, and the united states were religiously caused or biased. Adolf Hitler was a madman and a ruthless dictator, who's messed up ideas of how the world worked caused the death of over 7 Million Jews and Gypsies, and countless soldiers and civilians who rose up against the leader of the Third Reich.
Long Story Short: Bringing Adolf Hitler in to help your argument doesn't.

That may be true, but can you give me one Republican candidate In the top three who hasn't been spouting nonsense and hateful/bigoted things? I can only think of Romney, and it doesn't look good for him.

That I cannot, this is true, but candidates say a lot of things to draw in more voters. See: Obama's "I'm goint to get us out of this economic hole". Yeah, he really has.
