Hipster of the year? Mission Accomplished: Woman named Beautiful Existence Eats Nothing But Starbuc
117 replies, posted
Wait... wouldn't it be more "hip" to not partake in eating/drinking starbucks products since ya'know they're all corporate and destroying the "small, home owned coffee shop scene"
Honestly don't understand why people shop at starbucks, especially when better coffee shops exist.
Because it's convenient. I love trying new things, but most of the time I don't want to risk the slow service or bad coffee other places might have, especially if I'm in a rush. At least with Starbucks (or any other big chain, for almost any service) you know exactly what you're getting, and how fast.
"WHY? am I doing this challenge? Or WHY? will I do any challenge in the future? Because I LOVE being human and I LOVE the privilege of being able to ask the question WHY? in the first place!"
I'm going to have to disagree with Ms. Existence. I'm going to go ahead and say being able to ask questions is an inalienable human right.
yeah it's all overpriced and very mediocre though, a latte and banana bread is like 10 dollars.

For my money, Dunkin Donuts legitimately has better coffee to me.
Lots of people didn't have the chance to do various things at young age because of money problems. Now, she is 40, she is a grown up person, if she does it, why you care? is her money, her life choices.
I'm the only one in my friends group that buys games. My friends say that they prefer to do warez, but they don't say a word about how much money I spent.
I agree with this sort of thing in a lot of ways, but respectfully speaking, I believe people have the right to spend their money as they will within reason.
$6600 is a respectable sum of money, and quite a pretty penny in these times for the average joe, but I've seen bigger impulse buys. When people have money to spend, the more you have the harder it usually is to resist the impulse to spend your money on something.
Also, those who haven't got the ability to acquire things others talk about and practically wave in their faces may be naturally jealous, as well, of their more fortunate peers. Envy is natural to the human psyche and always has been. Not a one of us hasn't felt jealous that some people have more than we do in terms of wealth, influence, or societal standing. You'd have to be a saint, taught frugality well by those around you, or completely done in by life to not show the occasional envious streak towards others for something you may not have.
Granted, yours truly does come from a background of old money and is enjoying a promising start to his career as a physician, but we don't splash money out on personal stuff in our background. We have always lived rather quietly, and we uphold frugality quite religiously as well. The most we do spend around here is on charity work. I have enough to purchase the small joys of life and the little things that keep us happy, but I don't splash out on the 'latest and greatest gadgets and gizmos' if I have something equally serviceable that isn't a piece of junk.
Just my $ 0.02.
In all honesty, the reason I am stating the cost is more than the amount of money. It's that the way that she spoke of it and the way she took consecutive photos makes me think she thinks she is having a grander, more spiritual meaning to it. Her proclaimation of it being the ability of humans to ask questions makes me feel like she thinks theres this big, complex reason to her purchases.

Not to mention youth. Everybody has something to be jealous of. Be it a good marriage, good looks, social skills, or money.

What would you do for a living if you had $1,000,000?
What a fucking loser, hahaha!
At least I can give her kudos for living like that and not caring about what anyone thinks.

Let me check my chart.
Yes it says here your perfect job is 'shawl'. The hours aren't great, but you get to travel.
To Bentham and everybody else who jumped on Synthax over his joke:

I...guess if you want to do that, that's fine? I guess?
Seems ridiculously pointless and a weird thing to pick as a challenge for yourself rather than something productive like, IDK, singing every single day, or exercising every day, or donating to charity every month, or whatever. A challenge is a productive, healthy thing to do for yourself, but if you're going to do it, do something meaningful or interesting.
the only thing that drives me crazy is
"WHY? am I doing this challenge? Or WHY? will I do any challenge in the future? Because I LOVE being human and I LOVE the privilege of being able to ask the question WHY? in the first place!" she wrote on her blog.
what the fuck that doesn't answer anything

This is just far beyond pathetic.

Eating from Starbucks 3 times a day for a year can't be good for you. Don't they mostly do baked goods like muffins?
sandwiches as well, but well for the price of five normal ones

In my experience, the best fast food coffee is probably in KFC. But considering a normal costs roughlz the, it is best to ignore the fast foods unless it is something like 11 in the evening.
I feel like she is getting a little extra money on the side from Starbucks to say their products are healthy to eat on a daily basis. In her interview she states she lost weight; probably losing muscle weight and replacing it with unhealthy fat. Good thing shes doing that REI thing lol

Fuckin crap she'd have to have a bowl hat on a fedora and a twirled mustache on glassless glasses to be just a bit LESS hipster.....holy shit.

This is not an impulse buy
She did this shit for a year
a year
I bet she enjoyed pissing out her ass for the last 11 months.
Would have been better off eating at Panera Bread for a year. Bigger selection and a lot better tasting.
