This seems like something that'd happen in eastern kentucky. They definitely wheren't thinking when they did this.
I think the punisher logo is cringey and when I see it I think of airsoft.
I've heard a lot about the mixed feelings comic creators have about Punisher insignia being co-opted by military forces. Obviously the military is a big part of Frank's backstory (being a vet, originally Vietnam and later altered to Desert Storm) and I can see how both the character and a cool skull design would appeal to people in combat. But as someone who is pretty explicitly an anti-hero (some comic creators even call him an anti-villain) it's a little more complex.
seems like a pretty dumb idea for military dudes to use the logo, seeing as Vietnam explicitly got Frank addicted to murdering people
This just in people get offended by fictional characters.
Punisher's a great character but he's not exactly a good role model. except for that time he looped a dude's guts around a tree and then threw some lady into a window over and over until she died, that was sick
This just in people get offended by fictional characters.
I feel like you're totally 100% misunderstanding why people are upset here. I don't want the people who are supposed to protect me driving around with a logo of a skull on their cars.

Having a lot of friends who are military, police, or reservist that are police officers, I'm not too upset by this. Punisher skull is pretty common among those types, though tactical-Terries using it IS silly. But you're gonna saying.
The Punisher really isn't a good person.
To military personnel it's a sickass skull and way to embody the whole warrior type, because IIRC there was a comic that they did a few years back, explaining what the skull meant to soldiers, marines, etc. It's kinda just one those things you learn to accept and take no actual meaning in.
This just in people get offended by fictional characters.
Idk man, It seems like a justified reaction to me. I mean, They slapped the logo of a fictional vigilante famous for killing people whether he was legally permitted or not on the hood of their cars- and then followed with a slogan directed at calling out a group of people who are, at best, already intensely distrustful of cops. I'm not a PR guy, but I'm pretty sure "Here's a ~badass skull~ design, also fuck your movement" isn't going to help settle division and dispel any animosity people might have towards cops. If anything, whether they intended it or not, it comes of as a deliberate attempt at mockery.
"We protect and serve." Has an intimidating as fuck skull emblazoned on the front of the car lol.

But lets talk about the scope of it. Its a decal, that was removed. Is isn't on there anymore. So what cry about it? It was a decal which was suppose to be in support of law-enforcement, a logo which many people use. Its very common among the Blue Lives Matter groups. People mistook what the logo was original for, the police removed it. Time to move on with our lives folks. Nearly all anti-heros or superhero's step outside the law and they all conduct their own form of "justice." Just because you may think one is cool or is entertaining does not automatically equate you to that said hero.
Badass, but totally off mark for a cop, yeah.
Jesus Christ that white and blue American Flag pattern looks awful on the Punisher skull.
I guess it's safe to say that based on that, the chance of MCU ever deciding to have Mr.Castle take up Cap's Shield is decidedly zero. :v: [editline]25th February 2017[/editline]
Badass, but totally off mark for a cop, yeah.
When I saw this, it immediately reminded me of this:
