What if they execute for treason or terrorism then decide to have very loose definitions for those (Snowden ). What if they decide some people with certain political beliefs are a danger to society and that they should be locked up, then using your precedent of "wasted tax money" they decided those people ought to be executed. Honestly its a can of worms, best to leave it closed and settle with the state not having the power to execute its own citizens.

You can't just take someone out back and shoot him. It's a long process with multiple steps to mitigate the possibility of fucking it up.

There's still time for one to seek help. I don't know what kind of mental disaster leads someone to get off to kids but if you know what you do is not safe then you can still get help. I feel like shunning these people probably makes them more likely to act out on their urges and makes them child molesters. But if there's help they can reach out to, they might not act out on them. I'm not a psychiatrist but I feel like it has a lot to do with the person's development. Perhaps they were molested or abused themselves. It's an all around tragic situation, really. That's not to say it should be condoned at all, but treating them like pariah's probably doesn't save children.
