That's actually in the comics too. He builds artificial web shooters.
I always hated that.
Remember when rhino fans were excited to see Rhino in the movie? remember when he was shown exactly as much as the trailer showed at the end of the movie?
I finally saw Amazing Spiderman 2 just this past week. And yeah, the Rhino was so prevalent in the advertising, and then was just a ~30 second epilogue scene. Was kinda a let down. [editline]21st December 2014[/editline] I was also confused as to why police and barricades were already in place when Rhino went on his rampage. Is there a designated villain fight zone in the city, with specific hours allowed for superhero/supervillain combat?
I always hated that.
It makes more sense than him having organic ones.
So is the Amazing Spider man an actual prequel? Or does it just happen to be set a couple of years before the original trilogy for extra story development? Anyway, I saw the original Trilogy and liked it, wasn't really excited for the reboot but considered watching it, looks like I won't waste my time now.
He's saying that Amazing should be taking steps to be different from the first trilogy. With such a huge supporting cast and story canon in the Spider-Man comics, he wonders why after only one movie they're already retreading ground. Revisiting characters (Harry, Norman, Green Goblin, Mary-Jane) and concepts (high school graduation, "with great power comes great responsibility", Harry and Peter's conflict) already explored in the previous movies is a mistake in his opinion. He explains it a little better in the end of that paragraph. Redoing these concepts carries the implication that the old movies were mistakes, that they didn't get it right. He's annoyed that, rather than doing its own thing, Amazing seems to want to compete with the other movies. People have an emotional connection to the prior movies (two of them, at least). Sure, sometimes you get cringy stuff like this, but to simply deny the nostalgia built up over five years of movies (and another five years before the reboot) is not good business sense.
It makes more sense than him having organic ones.
So you're saying we can have a man who feeds on and controls electricity and yet spiderman can't shoot jizz from his wrists naturally?
It makes more sense than him having organic ones.
It makes just as much sense as him being able to sense danger, stick to walls, and all the other bullshit in Marvel comics. This is a universe where the literal Norse god of thunder makes regular appearances, you think we can't have a dude shoot silly string out of his wrists?

Where does he get the material for it? Step it up nerd. [editline]21st December 2014[/editline] Plus, he's supposed to be smart as fuck.
I'm fine with the movie being a gritty reboot because those are interesting and they work, but you can't change Spiderman himself. He's a sarcastic, joking nerd in a costume with super powers, you can make the world gritty but you can't make Spidey himself gritty.
I still prefer the older spiderman trilogy over this shit.

I know my opinion will be somewhat controversial, but I don't feel any of the modern Spiderman movies have been up to snuff. The Tobey ones all went too far off keel for my liking. Completely wrote out Gwen Stacy which is a major part of the Peter Parker character's development and glossed over how serious it is supposed to be with wacky crap. And then there was that butt-ugly Green Goblin cyber suit.
You're hired, I want the first issue of Spider Ganesha: Battle of the Hindu Gods, on my desk by tomorrow morning.
I'll have the traced porn images to you at the crack of noon.

Its quite a lot.
I really eventually want a movie that covers Venom where it's a full feature length movie that starts off as an action superhero movie and ends up being a full-on horror film.
So you're saying we can have a man who feeds on and controls electricity and yet spiderman can't shoot jizz from his wrists naturally?
Jaime Foxx does whatever he wants.
If you take away Peter's webshooters then you're taking away his ingenuity. *snip* Really I blame the Sam Raimi movies for this. Peter's been using web shooters for 40+ years and now people have a problem with it?
Didn't they mutate Peter into a giant spider and then have him tear out of himself to get rid of the web shooters? Honestly, I liked it but it's on par with current DC movies outside of Batman. They're good, they're fun, but not great. They could all too easily be fixed and that's a major flaw. Marvel is doing insanely phenomenal movie magic, I'd rather they personally did spider man.
I actually liked ASM2, but his points were valid. I'm really hoping that Marvel gets the film rights back so they can do it properly with their cinematic studio
honestly, i love the new spiderman movies, i really really like them.
He hits alot of the points there, but i cant agree with having it align with the previous trilogy. Comics fans are well adjusted to the concept of multiple universes and i feel others should adjust as well.
honestly, i love the new spiderman movies, i really really like them.
I do too honestly. I like them way more than the original trilogy Everyone insists I'm dumb for that though.
I do too honestly. I like them way more than the original trilogy Everyone insists I'm dumb for that though.
I agree that they're better than the first trilogy, but they aren't as good as they can be in the right hands.
I do too honestly. I like them way more than the original trilogy Everyone insists I'm dumb for that though.
I'm not a comic book guy so i go into every comic book movie fairly blind and end up seeing it as it's own thing. I can later understand people's gripes but to be honest, i had no idea a lot of people weren't fans of the new movies. I work at a theatre and both of these movies did spectacularly, with many people recommending i catch it on my off days. In fact i onyl saw the first one because i realized we only had one more showing and i regretted not having seen it earlier as i throughly loved it. I never cared much for Toby's movies, i could watch them but weren't huge fans. But i really enjoyed how garfield plays spider man, he has a nice mix of awkwardness, heroicness, and intelligence. Snarky too which is something Toby lacked as spiderman.
I agree that they're better than the first trilogy, but they aren't as good as they can be in the right hands.
Oh yeah definitely, they're far from perfect and far from being exactly what I want out of a Spider-Man movie. I appreciate a lot of what they try though and I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a fun time watching them. I enjoy them as their own take on Spider-Man that's at least faithful enough for me to enjoy it while different enough for me to be surprised. Thats' why I want Marvel to get the film rights back because I know they could probably make something perfect as a spidey adaptation [editline]21st December 2014[/editline]
I'm not a comic book guy so i go into every comic book movie fairly blind and end up seeing it as it's own thing. It's kinda disorienting. Not that people don't have valid points against it but it's just surprising
I still prefer the older spiderman trilogy over this shit.
So does everyone else. Spider-Man 3 was better than the bag of tits that's Amazing Spider-Man 2. [editline]21st December 2014[/editline] Although, after rewatching Spider-Man 2, I hate how frequently Peter and MJ break up and then immediately get back together. MAKE UP YOUR MINDS!
The thing about that email that tells me that guy knows what he's talking about is mentioning that they had Emma Stone in their series and they kill her off in the second movie! Idiots!
It makes more sense than him having organic ones.
how does it make more sense. If he was bitten by a genetically modified spider and can stick to walls and shit like any other spider why can't he shoot webs. how does some high school student create something in his bedroom that DARPA can't/never thought of?

With a box of SCRAPS.
