The word slaughter kind of implies someone thinks it was done on purpose.
i never said slaughter?
i never said slaughter?
Oh, thought you were the guy who said they were getting "slaughtered" up in the replies somewhere.
it's clear the afghan people do not want an american military presence there.
nor did i ever even say the US killed civilians, suicide bombers targeting US personnel and outposts constantly kill lots of civilians
i never said slaughter?
Collateral damage happens. It's a part of war no one likes. Both sides inflict it.
Collateral damage happens. It's a part of war no one likes. Both sides inflict it.
And at the current moment, the other side is killing a lot more of its on people on purpose than we are doing on accident by far.
It's funny because US should not be in Afghanistan in the first place.
its obviously the soldiers fault right?
And at the current moment, the other side is killing a lot more of its on people on purpose than we are doing on accident by far.
I've seen so many civilians get killed by insurgents. They really just don't give a fuck who gets hit.
I killed them. When we went up to their position to inspect the bodies and shit that's when I noticed the kid's face.
I killed him and I thought he was my friend. It sucked.
Do you honestly think he was your friend? I feel sorry for you and all, having to go there and fight a pointless war and then having to kill people but do you honestly think he was your friend?
Would you want to be the friend of a guy who comes to your country, drops bombs on your land and homes, fights a war where civilians die (which could very well be a relative or a friend of his) and then tries to befriend you and bring his culture to your home? That's probably how the kid felt, and most insurgents.
Doesn't sound right, man.

By technicality then Russia caused this. They invaded Afghanistan first, we just gave the Muhjahadeen weaponry, which in turn helped them deflect the Russians, but also gave them combat experience. When that was over, there was a split between the Muhjahadeen into the Taliban and the Northern Alliance. When we stepped in, we aided the Northern Alliance, and the country was occupied. We didn't prance in bombing shit stupidly, we assisted indigenous individuals inside the country to take back their country from Taliban rule, while also trying to find and rid of Al Qaeda and it's leadership.
Before you go on with stupidity at least understand what the fuck happened in history to cause what is going on around you.
Tac Error, do you know what history is? You can't disagree with it.

Yes, I did. I am a kind and compassionate person. We laughed and got along pretty well, so I thought we were buddies.
I don't think you realize how many people are forced to fight for Al Qaeda by Al Qaeda themselves because they are a pathetic organization full of cowards using innocent people to fulfill their goals. "Take this mortar and attack this convoy or we will kill your brother/sister/family." They kill their own people on purpose. Any civilian deaths on OUR part were accidental or committed by some service member who went crazy.
I can agree that the Iraq War was pointless and a waste of time/resources/lives. But Afghanistan? It's where Al Qaeda is. We went there to get rid of them. Now that we have achieved our goal of killing most of them, we are leaving.
The whole thing about you implying we're forcing our culture on them is invalid. We did no such thing. The "love our cheese burgers" thing in my first post was a joke.

Yeah.
A few weeks ago Starpluck posted a thread about an afgan police officer executing 3 unarmed Contractors there to train Afgan customs. He would've killed them all but luckily one had a gun and killed the cop. Two of the civilian contractors were American, one was British.
This is getting out of hand.

But lets just focus on all the accidental civilian deaths causes by us imperialist pigs who are invading this country for oil.

FTFY.
I mean there are a lot of Afghan's that don't particularly like us anymore, but there's a whole lot of them that would prefer us over the Taliban and are scared to death of what will happen to them and their families when the Americans pack up and leave.
But lets just focus on all the accidental civilian deaths causes by us imperialist pigs who are invading this country for oil.
Dude, you know what, normal people just like you and me join the military everyday. They all join for different reasons like school, money, or career. Those people then are sent to places like Afghanistan where they are put in a very tense situation where life or death choices are made constantly. These "imperialist pigs" could have the same ideals as you and just want to get out as soon as possible, yet you still berate them just because they probably joined for college. They have to live everyday with their actions they made while you sit down and judge them from your high chair. You are very ignorant and you need to take into account everyone's story or you will always be biased in your opinions and make yourself look like a fool like you just did.
It was sarcasm...
seriously guys?
How do you NOT hear the sarcasm in that post? Seriously?
I'm not judging anyone from my "high chair", I was cracking a joke at people who always try to say it's for oil and that the U.S. is evil and does nothing but kill civilians.
I thought that was pretty clear.
Its sad because the afghans are good people. And it simply tarnishes the ANP image.
I know a really kind Afghan man, great fellow and always a pleasure to talk to because he emits respect.

Dude, you can't read sarcasm. I mean come on, most people actually would think something like that in this forum.

Uh.. yes you can.
The very start of my sentence should have been enough to tip you off that it was sarcasm, or how about my post on the first page?

Oh jeez. Ok, I'm not going to derail the thread just look up sarcasm and see how there is so many easy ways to detect sarcasm in writing.
Someone remind me why the Americans are still there?

It takes time to pull out?
Are they even pulling out?
Someone remind me why the Americans are still there?
It's not just us, it is ISAF.
Are they even pulling out?
Yes.
Are they even pulling out?
Yes, the withdrawal process has started several months ago. The withdrawal of NATO forces is expected to be complete by the end of 2014 and a small presence may or may not be left behind for training/counter-terrorism operations.

I didn't realize Afghanistan has oil, enlighten me.
