Good. This shit costed me 500$. I hope these people win.
So, how much are they pushing for?
Even though Sony has been incredibly stupid in this whole ordeal, I think it's kinda harsh to say "Good". Lots of people will lose their income because they are getting fired thanks to this hack (which will cause loss which in turn causes people to get laid off).
First and last time I think I'll ever hear that.
Money or no money, it's still a card number.
if it's a debit card they can only spend as much that's in the account, unlike credit cards where you can spend loads
how can i get in on this
I'd ask at GameFAQs or Sony's official forums. I'm sure it started from on of those.
while i don't see this as a 100% good thing, sony REALLY shouldn't have sued that one guy who hacked the pstripple dev codes or whatever they were.
thats kinda what led up to this, isn't it?
They were sued by Ridge Racer and a Giant Enemy Crab.

Sony wouldn't deserve this for messing around with a couple hackers.
This hack was obviously not a form of getting back at Sony, but purely for the money.

i thought the whole idea of this operation was to get revenge on the lawsuits they filed?
Too bad the braindead Supreme Court just ruled today (hell of a coincidence, I must add) that corporations now have the power to block class action lawsuits from being filed against them.
Victims might have to go through arbitration (Sony's lawyers talk with a plaintiff's lawyers, they work a deal out without going to court) on an individual basis for compensation, instead of being able to file a class action suit on behalf of every victim of the breach.
Payback.
Payback.
For what? What did Sony do wrong?
These hackers has done nothing good.

Anons attacks were, but Anon wouldn't do this. They aren't that dumb to attempt something like this. This was done by someone who needed a scapegoat and had the know how.
i wonder when / if sony will be able to recover
half the people at my school have already sold their ps3's and got 360's
one of my friends just got back from his bank and texted me that when he tried to go and take some money out of his checkings he was told by the teller that he nothing in it and showed him that apparently he took out $500 yesterday. He had to cancel his card, apply for a new one, and file a fraudulent charge on his account with the bank.
I'm definitely cancelling mine now.

Someone, somewhere, is rolling in millions of dollars right now.

are we sure it's one guy?
So, where can I sign up for this and benefit off of their negligence and/or their fuck up?
Gaming history right here i wish i knew who done it.
are we sure it's one guy?
i don't think archangel125 was saying it's carved in stone it was just one guy who hacked and scammed PSN, nor was it his point it's just one guy rolling in millions of stolen money. he wouldn't know any better than it's possibly one or more.
Gaming history right here i wish i knew who done it.
I thought I made gaming history when I racked up 25 kills without dying efficiently utilizing my shotgun and the combat sentry-gun.
Man I feel sorry for sony. The company that made the ps1 my favorite console of all time.
Why the fuck do nearly all of my posts get funnies
This wasn't a joke you idiots
Sometimes I think you made a really great joke but I just don't get it or something.
i thought the whole idea of this operation was to get revenge on the lawsuits they filed?
Pretty sure this was a theft, not a "fuck you sony" statement in anyway. Someone recognized the opportunity for extreme profit.

One guy, or a small team.
One guy, or a small team.
One guy or a small team would have hacked into the network and copied the data. The data itself could already be in the hands of millions of script kiddies and asshats who bought it.
Either way, the hackers now have lodsemone, Sony have little.
"We brought this lawsuit on behalf of consumers to [del]learn the full extent of Sony PlayStation Network data security practices and the data loss and to seek a remedy for consumers[/del] make LOADSAMONEY"
I'm not saying it's a bad thing I'm saying the lawyer personally does not give a fuck. It's supposed to be a joke.

Sony lost my personal info, they did that wrong

Well in the US court the winner us usually the one with the most money, so go figure.

In Europe the customer is always right, unless said customer is a huge retard.
i hope this teaches sony a decent lesson on keeping people's information safe
i'm so glad i wasn't affected by this, but i could have been easily
after this fiaso i don't think i'll be using my debit card on the psn anymore, if it still exists after this
