Turns out, you were all just renting those ps3's and they're actually sony's properties.
Ferrari does the same thing. You can buy and own an Enzo (If you're one of the lucky few to be 'selected' ) but they keep it

Sony is just mad because they know that the ps3 is a huge failure and there is nothing they can do about it.
If you make something open like that, there will be hacks made for it. It's the way of greedu skiddies and 12 year olds
That's my point, I'm for open source and piracy. BUt the simple fact is that these are indie developers who are going to get hit the hardest. Sony doesn't make a profit from PSN, its a fucking free service, they only make money from the games sold. Valve does the same thing with Steam for fuck's sake. People are just going to use this to fucking cheat and pirate games, forcing us who don't want to pay for online services to have to pay for it. They're saying its for the benefit of everyone but its fucking not.
They have security just for that shit.
People have guns just for that shit.
they're just making it worse
I don't think Sony realize that their childish behavior is severely destroying their reputation
I don't think Sony realize that their childish behavior is severely destroying their reputation
The execs don't care, but the developers and software engineers do.
I don't think Sony realize that their childish behavior is severely destroying their reputation
I don't think Geohot and that Darkfire (?) guy realize that their childish behavior isn't doing their reputation or the reputation of hackers in general much good either.
I don't think Geohot and that Darkfire (?) guy realize that their childish behavior isn't doing their reputation or the reputation of hackers in general much good either.
Hackers have a reputation? Lmao. All your posts in this thread have been terrible, what are you doing?
Hackers have a reputation? Lmao. All your posts in this thread have been terrible, what are you doing?
Sony fanboyism, nothing to see here. Just ignore him until some new technology comes along and earns his blind devotion in the face of all morality and justice.
Hackers have a reputation? Lmao. The just need to look trustworthy to their users and other developers.
They do have a reputation to uphold, but it isn't like the general public are the people they need to worry about. The just need to look trustworthy to their users and other developers.
Their users aren't much of a problem, they're quite close to them in terms of personality. But their at (at best) unfriendly attitude towards developers needs to change if they want to get what they want. I mean, saying stuff like 'fuck sony, i'll fight till I die, power to the people' and calling yourself the personification of freedom for all isn't helping your cause. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not exactly likely to listen to people like Geohot and that darkfire guy when they're acting like this. Yes, I understand they're fanatical about their desires to open up consoles and no, console hacking isn't inherently bad but with the attitude of some of the more prominent hackers and a long history of abuse when being given an open console, I'm not exactly surprised that developers are refusing.
Alright, I am way behind on this. What's going on? Why did this guy get raided?
Alright, I am way behind on this. What's going on? Why did this guy get raided?
Original source was overreacting. There wasn't a raid of sorts, just some guys with court orders going 'yo, we just here to seize your shit, that cool' and graf going 'aww, meanies'.
Hackers have a reputation? Lmao. All your posts in this thread have been terrible, what are you doing?
You're an idiot if you think Hackers don't have a reputation to uphold. The main reason I would never hack my console is because of this "Fuck sony" attitude. You all lump the entire fucking company into one person when you have different branches which could be saying different things for fuck's sake.
Two words:FUCK SONY As far as i know, there weren't any cases of people from Microsoft raiding people who modded their Xbox 360 or Nintendo raiding guys who installed The Homebrew channel on their Wiis.

There was this massive banspree where Microsoft bricked a shit load of 360s and banned the users accounts which meant they lost everything. And you're proving my point, all of you are following this "FUCK SONY" montra like sheep when all you hear from Sony's side is the execs and laywers. None of the developers have spoken up, none of the software engineers behind the PS3 have said anything. You say you are for freedom but you treat a corporation like its a single human entity.
I know they bricked them, but it's definitely better than GOING INTO YOUR HOUSE AND TAKING THE DAMN CONSOLE, don't ya think?
Not really, as they get their equipment back when the case is settled. Probably not in the condition it left, but at least it would still work.
I know they bricked them, but it's definitely better than GOING INTO YOUR HOUSE AND TAKING THE DAMN CONSOLE, don't ya think?
.....THEY BRICKED THE CONSOLES AND THEY PERMABANNED THE ACCOUNTS. How is that better than getting your shit taken away for certain period of time!? Holy fucking shit.
