• Republicans are openly considering Donald Trump's 'emotional stability', says Carl Bernstein

At least there's a chance that the Republicans would be willing to impeach Trump if we get to that point. Slight glimmer of hope.
No matter how many things on the Republican agenda he lets through, Trump personally has nothing to offer and is terrible for our image. They clearly would rather have Pence. (Pence's beliefs are terrible for our image as well, but in a normal Republican kind of way)
andrew johnson
There was a legal violation Johnson did, though?
Maybe if they just get kicked in their stupid fucking teeth enough that the spend the next four years spitting blood then they'll shape up in to a decent fucking party to represent this country. Same goes for the DNC. They got a damn good kick in the election, but I think they may need a few more too. They're both shit, and maybe the one truly good thing Trump will do is make them all realize how fucked up they've become. We make our own demons, and they made a bad one together.
Bill Clinton technically didn't break any laws but he did lie under oath.
One thing a Pence presidency would do is A) Not build an incomprehensibly expensive wall against Mexico B) Not go to war with the Peoples Republic of China/Maintain the One China Policy C) Flip a finger off toward Russia I mean sure, we'll probably see abortion laws repealed, gay rights curbed and probably some kind of measure against immigration, but at least our foreign policy will remain intact and with it our international standing (hopefully).

The moments Pence or Trump even breathe near them there'll be a total uproar. Trump at least acknowledged that gay marriage is settled and he won't do anything.
That's why I said curbed instead of repealed like abortion. I'm sure they'll try something, but I have no idea how far it would go but I suspect not much.
Hope he gets FIRED
Well Too bad guys Congress can impeach, but the 25th amendment Article IV is reserved to the executive branch, Also Turns out the emoluments clause is exempt from the president and vice president. And using George Washington as a precedent in the 1700s for today is asinine.
I'm still not convinced that Trump actually realizes what he's gotten himself into.
I'm still not convinced that Trump actually realizes what he's gotten himself into.
That was plain enough to see when he won the primaries :v: He's like a child given a lot of toys to play with ostensibly under supervision, but the babysitters are too busy on the phone while he breaks the toys he was given

What I should have said was "Trump doesn't realize what he's gotten himself into." I'm not sure what he was expecting, but I'd imagine it was along the lines of "everyone will suddenly love me and I'll be able to fix this place up ASAP while negotiating some great deals with foreign leaders...it's going to be the greatest...a credible source told me so!"
Y'know, I'm still waiting for a good answer as to why anyone should have faith in this man's abilities to a leader, and the more time goes by the more I want that answer because he just can't stop demonstrating his ineptitude

Its not in his abilities that will fix things but lack of. The last two people (Ron Paul and Sanders) were good picks and stupid people rejected them. So if America can't or wont get behind a paragon, maybe a house fire will fix their shit. People change due to best of things happening or the worst happening. We as Americans had plenty of chance to get behind the best. Maybe its time for the latter option.

I'm looking for explanation and rationale as to why I or anyone else should be putting any amount of trust into Trump's abilities as a leader and a diplomat despite the growing number of red flags

Ha ha haaaa, this is all almost hilarious. BUCKLE UP, BUCKAROOS
Not even a week into the presidency and an impeachment is steadily growing more and more likely. I'm both excited and worried to see where this all goes :vs:
So ya'll want a Pence? The republicans wants a Pence. Plague or cholera?
So ya'll want a Pence? The republicans wants a Pence. Plague or cholera?
I want a president who exists in the same reality I do. So Pence, I guess.
So ya'll want a Pence? The republicans wants a Pence. Plague or cholera?
Pence would be terrible, but he wouldn't try to plunge the Union inti fascism less than a FUCKING WEEK after taking office.
So ya'll want a Pence? The republicans wants a Pence. Plague or cholera?
At this point, yes. I would prefer Pence At this point I am more willing to take the hit to domestic issues like LGBTQ and women's rights than watch Trump actively undermine and discard foreign relations that have taken nearly a century to build, tank the US economy with another round of corporate deregulation and tax breaks, actively suppress climate research and accelerate global warming for the sake of oil and coal money, and give Putin carte blanche to expand his sphere of influence in Europe and push even further forward on his plans for a thinly veiled new Soviet superpower
They need an actual legal reason, though. They can't just kick him out of office because they don't like him.
I see no reason a 'vote of no faith' wouldn't work. It's worked in other governments and, fuck, if they really want to they can trump up a charge and boot him right the hell out. ......and then we get Pence. I hope they don't.
there are no reasons to do do that
Pretty muc. Next election the Democrats better send in their best and principled. Clear house of corporate corruption. I predict more turds to win if they don't.
Excuse me?
poor wording, they meant his fitness to weild the iron pen [editline]26th January 2017[/editline]
I see no reason a 'vote of no faith' wouldn't work. I hope they don't.
technically speaking i don't think theres anything that would immedietly stop that but it would cause a massive court challenge if they did, having a reason to legally remove him from office, even one as petty as a sexual harasment case is probably enough to pass muster with the courts as he has broken some law
Yeah, problem Impeachment does not immedaitly remove the President, as we found with Bill Clinton, it just sets up a court to charge him
They won't touch him. Wouldn't be surprised that if his approval ratings increase, then the comments from "senior members of his own political party" would disappear.
At this point, yes.
