No they were just fucking with morphine and invented heroin. Then they discovered it turned into morphine really quickly so marketed it as a cure for addiction.

Then there is the other side where they allow weaker drugs with no "cool" side effects to play around with and drugs which potentially kill you more than the restricted drugs.

Well source 7 just says 7500 people die of aspirin. Nothing about no people dying of cannabis, which it is cited as a source of.
