Its Barbaric.
I think NK pretty much are Barbarians of the Modern World.
Nah. That'd be the Middle East. Most of their people are stuck in the medieval age of logical thought(which they don't have much of).
Why is there no intervention being done when crimes of humanity are possibly being committed around the clock?
well, you see when both sides are committing unimaginable crimes against their citizens.. where do you draw the line?

What the hell do you mean both sides?
What the hell do you mean both sides?
well in this war of the slient, you've got i'd assume a blurred line of the east vs the west..
What the hell do you mean both sides?
South Korea isn't exactly a democracy.
and
Its much easier for the west to hear bad news about one of its "enemies" rather than one of its allies.
I guess one could assume they have bad stuff going on. Pretty big assumption to make though and really needs some kind of source.
I vote for having to go through a house rigged with every booby trap to be ever found in Home Alone, as far as execution ideas go.
What? I want in on the joke, too.
I'm starting to think Kim John Un is thinking he's playing Bulletstorm and is trying to get the biggest amount of points.
Imagine if China was actually committed to bettering the North Korean situation.
I can't imagine them holding out much longer, its eventually going to get to a point where their actions will alienate their last few remaining "friends" in the world.
I read somewhere that even if NK pointed all their artillery at Seoul and fired the deaths in Seoul would actually be a lot lower than expected because of south Korean counter artillery (if you focus on killing civilians you aren't focusing on military targets) coupled with large amounts of bomb shelters and the overlying fact that there would most likely have to be advanced warning to evacuate the large amount of Chinese nationals and diplomats in the city
Still quite risky, for counter artillery to work they need to know exactly where every single piece of artillery is prior to them firing. They could easily just fire it all right now with no warning and destroy a large part of Seoul.
To be fair, I don't really trust SK media when it comes to the NK. A while back they reported that one of the NK generals, Kim Jong UN's uncle, was purged and his family murdered as part of a power struggle. Yet somehow there guy popped up a few weeks later as if nothing happened. SK media probably sensationalize a lot of NK rumours.
you didn't read the article then... this guy was executed BECAUSE he was tangentially connected to lil Kim's uncle, also SKs media has only shadowy sources and official NK news as their source, the story goes that he was shown around to say he wasn't killed then he was quietly executed in like december
Why does North Korea exist.
Why does North Korea exist.
as a buffer state between china and south korea, also because russia wanted some japanese-taken land so they declaired war on japan like 1 week before japan surrendered, so russia was by treaty, allowed to take half of korea, which lead to a proxy war because they then wanted to take all the korea for themselves
Imagine if all of the civilians in South Korea were paid to temporarily relocate, so that a military takeover could be enacted on North Korea without NK bombing the citizens of Seoul.
North Korean artillery being able to hit Seoul is a myth.
North Korean artillery being able to hit Seoul is a myth.
You forget the range of modern artillery and how close Seoul is to the border.
You forget the range of modern artillery and how close Seoul is to the border.
The majority of North Korean artillery is old Soviet stuff, the range of which is known to be insufficient. Their few 170mms can reach; but more importantly, their significant stockpile of ballistic missiles can very easily reach Seoul and beyond. They are what one should be worrying about.
You forget the range of modern artillery and how close Seoul is to the border.
Even modern conventional artillery can't shoot that far, the most is about 25- maybe 30 miles. Seoul is 35 miles from the dmz.
It's the rocket launchers and missiles that are the real problem.
I almost wish the fucked up ones get exterminated, then the normal ones that aren't brain wiped would live normally.
This country is fucked beyond imagining.
Has someone told North Korea that firing an official doesn't mean to actually set them on fire?
The original source is the same source that said the other dude was executed by a 100 dogs or something. Read with caution
What kind of inhumane monster would do such a thing?
Death by Nigel, I can see it now.
It's for the purpose of sending a message.
Sending a message...to who? Everyone in North Korea already knows they live in a shithole completely devoid of basic human rights and if they don't smile and/or cry and/or not smile/cry on command or dare to have an independent thought that they'll get fucking murdered.
Message has already been received.

other higher ups so they don't go behind his back again?
Jesus H. Christ North Korea. What about a firing squad? Fucking Flamethrow? geez...
Not much different than Saddam Hussein. Guys would have hand grenades put in their shirt pocket in Iraq, and were executed that way. There's even video of it
North Korean artillery being able to hit Seoul is a myth.
That's not a myth, but the "NK can destroy Seoul in a manner of minutes!" is.
