If that's true that lol, lmao, lmfao, rofl and "I found this to be quite humorous and I enjoyed it" are also an expression of the retarded seeing how they all mean the same thing.
XD is an emoticon, just because I'm tired doesn't mean I'm going to use -_- or z_z to express myself, emoticons are used by 12 year old boys or 16 year old girls. Thus being annoying.
I'm sure they will.
But why do you assume we are in the business of rehabilitating people? If we don't like someone, why is it wrong for us to bar them from posting on our website?
Like I said, if FP is a business now, you need to at least try to keep a good image. Banning people because you don't like them is going to hurt FP's image and possibly jeopardize its survival as a business.
I'm done anyways, I get the feeling there's not really anywhere I can go with this other than simply restating my point.

When they mean the same thing it makes no difference. And does not justify a ban just because you don't like them.

how is using emoticons "annoying"? O_o
She deserved it to be honest.

I agree, i'm done as well. They're not going to be unbanned and retarded things like this will keep happening, no matter how hard we fight.
When they mean the same thing it makes no difference.
The average poster uses correct grammar and spelling.
The younger child uses emoticons in half their posts and can't spell.
But there is no difference if they're both human right? :downs:

I'm pretty sure you remember smartness

Fixed ;)
I still think stating your opinion is no cause for a ban.
OH GEE SUCH AS THE ONE FOUR POSTS ABOVE ME. See, this is what I'm talking about. Anyone who thinks differently than "oh poor her she didn't deserve all that stuff that happened" is instantly permabanned. I'm not even going to SAY what I think because I'm too scared of being perma'd by the mods who may possibly think differently than me. :colbert:

Why do you care so much if someone uses an emoticon? So what if a younger person uses an emoticon. It doesn't make them retarded. Only a lazy typer.

Oh jesus christ, this is exactly what we've been arguing about.
hey genius this is a message board not the government of the united states
admins can ban for any reason and therefore all these bans are fully justified
Hey genius, we've more or less stopped arguing. And that post was ages ago.
Your OPINION is not the grounds to ban any user of any forum. Just as an example and because I've been defending him all along, Goodcat was not advocating raiding, nor did he say he was from 4Chan, and he didn't break any rules. Al he was saying was that the original situation was funny. Banning someone because you personally don't like them is abuse of your modding power and it'll just make people hate you.
I honestly hope she didn't kill herself, thats really fucked up if she did. But she's dumb as shit and deserved what came to her. Have you all seen the "brain slushie" video? If that doesn't make you hate her then I don't know what will.

well the post above you deserved it because he purposely posted it even after seeing the permabans for it like the unfunny shitlick he is

However, Facepunch is not self-sustaining. The mods banning people for what pretty much amounts to cheap laughs and "we don't like 4channers round these here parts" is going to drive people away and make the site look bad, which will in turn make garry look bad, which will in turn jeopardize FP's survival as a business.
I already said two better ways TH could have handled this that would have been examples of good moderation, as opposed to the permaban spree he decided to go on.
well the post above you deserved it because he purposely posted it even after seeing the permabans for it like the unfunny shitlick he is
You don't know that.
Also, you're flaming other users but god knows you won't get banned for that because there are "more important things to ban people for right now" even though calling someone else a "shitlick" on a regular basis is grounds for at least a week ban and it's been proven in the past.
She deserved it to be honest.
(User was permabanned for this post ("Advocating raiding" - JohnnyMo1))
I don't condone this, but advocating raiding and saying she deserved it aren't mutually exclusive.
Why do you care so much if someone uses an emoticon? So what if a younger person uses an emoticon. It doesn't make them retarded. Only a lazy typer.
I don't care honestly, the use of it just shows how the user is of new status of the internet, where at which point, they may deem things hilarious when it's stupid. However this isn't always the case.
Can we have enough derailing and internet politics now
Should i really have to? You should've been touch what was fair and unfair, right and wrong, ages ago. Besides, even if you didn't Wicked did a good job.
You don't have to do anything. I guess I misjudged you in thinking you were reasonable enough to suppose I acted in good faith, if only for the sake of the discussion. I guess we're done here.
Like I said, if FP is a business now, you need to at least try to keep a good image. Banning people because you don't like them is going to hurt FP's image and possibly jeopardize its survival as a business.
It's definitely a problem we face--if we're too lenient, FP will become even more like 4chan, and Garry's company will have a bad reputation in the industry. If we're too harsh, we'll have a worse reputation in the Garry's Mod userbase.
That said, are you familiar with the Something Awful boards? They're one of the most successful sites on the internet. Mods there pretty much freely ban anyone they think is a tool. And guess what? Given the size of its userbase, it's an astonishingly adult, intelligent, and vibrant community. Which isn't to say I think we can BE Something Awful, but it shows that allowing mods to ban people they don't like doesn't necessarily mean you'll have a bad or unpopular forum. You might become more unpopular with the sort of people the mods don't like, but that just makes the mods' job easier.
you all just couldn't leave it alone. this could have been funny if you all just sat back and watched this girl post more and more rants until she dug herself in a hole with the nude pictures she posted, but no. you had to get involved and fuck everything up, actively try to ruin this girl's life, and get the police involved. any participants that got permabanned today will not be missed.

don't be surprised when people decide they don't want you on this forum when you post garbage
th89 thanks for cleaning up this shithole of a thread

Way to further add to the bullshit. :bravo:
Going to go hang in the STALKER megathread.

SA also has a clear rules list that they stick to. FP does have a rules list, but it's buried away in the Mapping forum and the rules are rather inconsistently enforced.
